Load frequency control using polar fuzzy controller

TENCON 2010 - 2010 IEEE Region 10 Conference, 2010
Load frequency control has always been a promising field for researchers over the past couple of decades. When load perturbations takes place anywhere in any area of the system, it will affect the frequencies of other areas too. In the recent years, the soft computing techniques such as artificial neural network (ANN), Fuzzy systems and evolutionary ...

An Adaptive Controller for Power System Load-Frequency Control

IEEE Power Engineering Review, 1989
An adaptive controller is presented for load-frequency control of power systems. It uses a PI (proportional-integral) adaptation to satisfy the hyperstability condition for taking care of the parameter changes of the system. Only the available information on the states and output are required for the control.

Optimal Decentralized Load Frequency Control

IEEE Power Engineering Review, 1987
The paper presents a novel methodology for feasibility analysis and design of optimal decentralized load frequency control for multi-area interconnected electric power systems. Feasibility of the proposed decentralized control scheme is determined with a fixed mode evaluation algorithm based on eigenvalue dynamics.

Decentralized load frequency control for load following services

2002 IEEE Power Engineering Society Winter Meeting. Conference Proceedings (Cat. No.02CH37309), 2003
This paper proposes a decentralized controller for the load frequency control operated as a load following service. Decentralization is achieved by developing a model for the interface variables, which consist of frequencies of other subsystems. To account for the modeling uncertainties, a local Kalman filter is designed to estimate each subsystem's ...

Efficient fuzzy logic load–frequency controller

Energy Conversion and Management, 2002
Abstract This paper investigates an application of the fuzzy logic technique for designing the load–frequency control system to damp the frequency and tie line power oscillations due to different load disturbances. The proposed fuzzy load–frequency controller, called a two layered fuzzy controller, consists of two layers.

Adaptive Policy for Load Frequency Control

IEEE Transactions on Power Systems, 2018
Till date, various load frequency control (LFC) schemes have been reported and every scheme has its own way of disturbance rejection capability. Utilizing some of them together may bring improved performance. Keeping this fact in mind, an adaptive control policy is proposed in this letter.

Bilateral based robust load frequency control

Energy Conversion and Management, 2005
Abstract Load frequency control (LFC) has been one of the major subjects in electric power system design/operation and is becoming much more significant today in accordance with increasing size and the changing structure and complexity of interconnected power systems.

Regulation Error in Load Frequency Control

IEEE Transactions on Power Apparatus and Systems, 1980
This paper presents a discussion of regulation error in the load frequency control of a power system. It suggests that good control of a power syspm is more dependent on system constraints and human decisions than on the design of the present day load frequency controller.

Wavelet neural network load frequency controller

Energy Conversion and Management, 2005
This paper presents the feasibility of applying a wavelet neural network (WNN) approach for the load frequency controller (LFC) to damp the frequency oscillations of two area power systems due to load disturbances. The present intelligent control system trained the wavelet neural network (WNN) controller on line with adaptive learning rates, which are ...
