Power Outputs of a Machine Squat-Jump Across a Spectrum of Loads

The Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research, 2007
The load that maximizes mechanical power output (Pmax) has received considerable research attention owing to its perceived importance to training prescription. However, it may be that identifying Pmax is of little importance if the difference in power output about Pmax is insubstantial. Additionally, comparing the effect of load on power output between

Fatigue Strength Under Spectrum Loading

2020
In-service loading often is characterized by random variable amplitudes which cannot be represented by sinusoidal type of loading sufficiently. Rare events may introduce microplastic straining and are followed by a huge number of cycles with moderate to medium stresses.

Load spectrum editing for automotive fasteners based on bolt critical load

Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Part D: Journal of Automobile Engineering
The durability of threaded fasteners is critical to chassis reliability. Conventional load spectrum editing often retains low-amplitude, high-cycle loads that extend test time without affecting preload. This study introduces an accelerated editing method that integrates the bolt critical load threshold with the S-transform to account for the loosening ...

Equivalent wind loading spectrum technique

1996
Wind forces on structures are usually schematized by the sum of their mean static part and a nil mean fluctuation generally treated as a stationary process randomly varying in space and time. The multi-dimensional nature of such a process gives rise to relevant numerical efforts in order to carry out the dynamic analysis of the structural response ...

Fatigue testing using offshore load spectrum

1987
The results of an Internordic co-operative project are described. A standard spectrum for fatigue testing is proposed. It simulates the long term wave action history to inertia dominated structures in the North-Sea. Facilities for crack growth testing using the proposed spectrum have been developed and used in comparative tests.
