Modeling hepatic fibrosis in TP53 knockout iPSC‐derived human liver organoids

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study developed iPSC‐derived human liver organoids with TP53 gene knockout to model human liver fibrosis. These organoids showed elevated myofibroblast activation, early disease markers, and advanced fibrotic hallmarks. The use of profibrotic differentiation medium further amplified the fibrotic signature seen in the organoids.

A system-level mathematical model for evaluation of power train performance of load-leveled electric-vehicles [PDF]

open access: yes
The power train performance of load leveled electric vehicles can be compared with that of nonload leveled systems by use of a simple mathematical model. This method of measurement involves a number of parameters including the degree of load leveling and

Transient response analysis for DC-DC boost converter [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
DC-DC Boost Converter and Hybrid Posicast Controller is developed and simulated using MATLAB Simulink software. DC-DC Boost converter has a very high overshoot and a very high settling time which produce oscillated output response.

PYCR1 inhibition in bone marrow stromal cells enhances bortezomib sensitivity in multiple myeloma cells by altering their metabolism

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study investigated how PYCR1 inhibition in bone marrow stromal cells (BMSCs) indirectly affects multiple myeloma (MM) cell metabolism and viability. Culturing MM cells in conditioned medium from PYCR1‐silenced BMSCs impaired oxidative phosphorylation and increased sensitivity to bortezomib.

Investigating Ageing Effects on Bored Pile Shaft Resistance in Cohesionless Soil Through Field Testing

open access: yesGeotechnics
This study investigates the influence of time (ageing) on the uplift capacity of bored piles in cohesionless silty sand through a full-scale field testing programme. Four reinforced concrete piles, two shorter (16 m) and two longer (21 m), were installed

A LQR-Based Controller with Estimation of Road Bank for Improving Vehicle Lateral and Rollover Stability via Active Suspension

open access: yesSensors, 2017
In this article, a Linear Quadratic Regulator (LQR) lateral stability and rollover controller has been developed including as the main novelty taking into account the road bank angle and using exclusively active suspension for both lateral stability and ...

A synthetic benzoxazine dimer derivative targets c‐Myc to inhibit colorectal cancer progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Benzoxazine dimer derivatives bind to the bHLH‐LZ region of c‐Myc, disrupting c‐Myc/MAX complexes, which are evaluated from SAR analysis. This increases ubiquitination and reduces cellular c‐Myc. Impairing DNA repair mechanisms is shown through proteomic analysis.

Superior Obstacle Avoidance Capabilities of Personal Mobility Vehicles (PMVs) Equipped with an Active Inward Tilting Mechanism

open access: yesJ
In recent years, novel Personal Mobility Vehicles (PMVs) with a narrow width and an inward tilting mechanism, similar to motorcycles (MCs), have been proposed to prevent overturning during turns.

Adaptaquin is selectively toxic to glioma stem cells through disruption of iron and cholesterol metabolism

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Adaptaquin selectively kills glioma stem cells while sparing differentiated brain cells. Transcriptomic and proteomic analyses show Adaptaquin disrupts iron and cholesterol homeostasis, with iron chelation amplifying cytotoxicity via cholesterol depletion, mitochondrial dysfunction, and elevated reactive oxygen species.
