Local Boxicity, Local Dimension, and Maximum Degree
In this paper, we focus on two recently introduced parameters in the literature, namely `local boxicity' (a parameter on graphs) and `local dimension' (a parameter on partially ordered sets). We give an `almost linear' upper bound for both the parameters

The Arabidopsis mutants hls1 hlh1 and amp1 lamp1 exhibit pleiotropic developmental phenotypes. Although the functions of the causative genes remain unclear, they act in the same genetic pathway and are thought to generate non‐cell‐autonomous signals.

We study products of precursors of spatially local operators, $W_{x_{n}}(t_{n}) ... W_{x_1}(t_1)$, where $W_x(t) = e^{-iHt} W_x e^{iHt}$. Using chaotic spin-chain numerics and gauge/gravity duality, we show that a single precursor fills a spatial region that grows linearly in $t$. In a lattice system, products of such operators can be represented using

Spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) is a genetic disease affecting motor neurons. Individuals with SMA experience mitochondrial dysfunction and oxidative stress. The aim of the study was to investigate the effect of an antioxidant and neuroprotective substance, ergothioneine (ERGO), on an SMNΔ7 mouse model of SMA.

We present a modification to the paramodulation inference system, where semantic equality and non-equality literals are stored as local simplifiers with each clause. The local simplifiers are created when new clauses are generated and inherited by the descendants of that clause.

Microbial exopolysaccharide production by polyextremophiles in the adaptation to multiple extremes
Polyextremophiles are microorganisms that endure multiple extreme conditions by various adaptation strategies that also include the production of exopolysaccharides (EPSs). This review provides an integrated perspective on EPS biosynthesis, function, and regulation in these organisms, emphasizing their critical role in survival and highlighting their ...

An AFSCME Local Transforms Local Politics [PDF]
[Excerpt] In the late 1980s, AFSCME Local 2703, in Merced, California, found itself in a position familiar to many union members at that time: fighting hard to keep pay and benefits from being slashed.

Local Shtukas and Divisible Local Anderson Modules
We develop the analog of crystalline Dieudonn\'e theory for p-divisible groups in the arithmetic of function fields. In our theory p-divisible groups are replaced by divisible local Anderson modules, and Dieudonn\'e modules are replaced by local shtukas.

Exchange on Nick Onuf’s ‘Metaphoricizing Modernity,’ Part III–Reconfiguration of Modernity and/as Metaphor(s) [PDF]
In this Dossier, four scholars reflect on Nicholas Onuf’s leading article, ‘Metaphoricizing modernity’, (re)engaging with – and celebrating – more broadly Onuf’s groundbreaking work from different places, perspectives, and angles.
