Shikonin: From Biosynthesis and Pharmacological Mechanisms to Translational Safety and Drug Delivery
Shikonin, biosynthesised in Boraginaceae roots from phenylalanine‐derived PHB and isoprenoid GPP, modulates redox balance, cellular stress, signalling pathways, and regulated cell death. Preclinical studies support diverse pharmacological activities, while nanocarriers improve dispersion and delivery.

Staphylococcus aureus‐derived xanthine exacerbates allergic rhinitis‐associated olfactory dysfunction by promoting Th17 cell differentiation and IL‐17A production. IL‐17A neutralisation alleviates olfactory sensory neuron loss and improves olfactory function. Abstract Objectives Allergic rhinitis (AR) is frequently accompanied by olfactory dysfunction (

In this Phase 1 study, linaprazan glurate (LG) demonstrated rapid onset of intragastric acid suppression, achieving a pH > 4 within 10 to 60 min, and maintained pH control, with a 24‐h pH > 4 holding time ratio above 95% at 50 mg and 75 mg twice‐daily doses. AUC and Cmax of linaprazan, the main metabolite of LG, increased in proportion to LG dose.

Antibiotic Prophylaxis and Surgical Site Infections in Septoplasty
ABSTRACT Background Surgical site infection is one of the most common complications of septoplasty. The use of antibiotic prophylaxis has been debated for years. Since the practice at our centre has shifted towards a more frequent use of prophylactic antibiotics in septoplasties, our aim was to review its use and effect on the postoperative infection ...
