LOCAL CLIMATE ZONES OF MINSK CITY

SAKHAROV READINGS 2022: ENVIRONMENTAL PROBLEMS OF THE XXI CENTURY Part 2, 2022
The concept of local climatic zones is considered. A map of the local climatic zones of the city of Minsk according to the WUDAPT (World Urban Database and Access Portal Tools) international classification was built based on the data of the general plan of the capital. The method of determining the land surface temperature using the Google Earth Engine

Multilevel ensembling for local climate zones classification

2017 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium (IGARSS), 2017
This paper presents an end-to-end system for automatic local climate zones classification of various types of urban environment. For that we perform fusion of multispectral images from Landsat-8 and Sentinel-2 satellites with site description extracted from OpenStreetMap layers.

Thermal evaluation of the local climate zone scheme in Belgium

2017 Joint Urban Remote Sensing Event (JURSE), 2017
Global warming and the increasing world population will only put more pressure on the living conditions in urban environments. From a thermal comfort point of view, it is clear that there is a need for sustainable urban planning in which the thermal behavior of new developments can be accounted for.

Mapping of local climate zones of Moscow city

Geodesy and Cartography, 2018
Local climatic zones are areas with a uniform land cover, structure, materials and a specific character of human activity, which have a special type of interaction with the surface layer of the atmosphere. Allocating climatic zones in cities provides possibility to reduce various combinations of built-up and land cover to a limited number of classes ...

Exploring Sentinel-L Data for Local Climate Zone Classification

IGARSS 2018 - 2018 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium, 2018
Local climate zone (LCZ) is a categorical scheme describing the morphology of urban area, which is a valuable not only for the original purpose of temperature study, but also for other urban oriented studies like population density estimation and economical development monitoring.
