Synchrotron Radiation for Quantum Technology

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Materials and interfaces underpin quantum technologies, with synchrotron and FEL methods key to understanding and optimizing them. Advances span superconducting and semiconducting qubits, 2D materials, and topological systems, where strain, defects, and interfaces govern performance.

Finite volume schemes for locally constrained conservation laws [PDF]

open access: yesNumerische Mathematik, 2010
The paper is concerned with the study of the finite volume schemes for scalar conservation laws with local unilateral constraint of the form \(\partial_t u+\partial_x f(u)=0,\) \(t>0,x\in\mathbb R\), \(u(0,x)=u_0(x)\) and \(f(u(t,0))\leq F(t)\), \(t>0\). This type of problem models road obstacles in traffic.

A conservation law with spatially localized sublinear damping

open access: yesAnnales de l'Institut Henri Poincaré C, Analyse non linéaire, 2020
We consider a general conservation law on the circle, in the presence of a sublinear damping. If the damping acts on the whole circle, then the solution becomes identically zero in finite time, following the same mechanism as the corresponding ordinary differential equation.

Conservation laws of scaling-invariant field equations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
A simple conservation law formula for field equations with a scaling symmetry is presented. The formula uses adjoint-symmetries of the given field equation and directly generates all local conservation laws for any conserved quantities having non-zero ...

Fermi Surface Nesting and Anomalous Hall Effect in Magnetically Frustrated Mn2PdIn

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Mn2PdIn, a frustrated inverse Heusler alloy, showing electronic‐structure driven anomalous Hall effect with Weyl crossings, Fermi‐surface nesting and near‐zero magnetization ideal for low‐magnetization spintronics. Abstract Noncollinear magnets with near‐zero net magnetization and nontrivial bulk electronic topology hold significant promise for ...

The Structure of Local Groundwater Law for Sustainable Groundwater Policy in Japan

open access: yesLaws, 2016
Groundwater is extremely important to all societies. It provides in many places a reliable and ample supply of water for home use, irrigation, and industry. Japanese groundwater policy consists of complex laws and rules.

Quantifying Spin Defect Density in hBN via Raman and Photoluminescence Analysis

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
An all‐optical method is presented for quantifying the density of boron vacancy spin defects in hexagonal boron nitride (hBN). By correlating Raman and photoluminescence signals with irradiation fluence, defect‐induced Raman modes are identified and established an relationship linking optical signatures to absolute defect densities. This enables direct

Conservation laws and symmetry analysis of a generalized Drinfeld-Sokolov system

open access: yesAIMS Mathematics, 2023
The generalized Drinfeld-Sokolov system is a widely-used model that describes wave phenomena in various contexts. Many properties of this system, such as Hamiltonian formulations and integrability, have been extensively studied and exact solutions have ...

Conservation laws for the Maxwell-Dirac equations with a dual Ohm's law

open access: yes, 2007
Using a general theorem on conservation laws for arbitrary differential equations proved by Ibragimov, we have derived conservation laws for Dirac's symmetrized Maxwell-Lorentz equations under the assumption that both the electric and magnetic charges ...

Spherical Skin Model: Stratified Co‐Culture of Fibroblasts and Keratinocytes on Spherical Beads Toward Compound Screening

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Models of the human skin must combine the relevant biological contents and suitable biomaterials with the correct spatial organization. Performing compound screening on such in vitro models also requires fast and reproducible production methods of the models.
