Distance, bank heterogeneity and entry in local banking markets [PDF]
We examine the determinants of entry into Italian local banking markets during the period 1991-2002 and build a simple model in which the probability of branching in a new market depends on the features of both the local market and the potential entrant.

A Sr‐free air electrode for high‐temperature solid oxide cells is designed by independently tailoring electronic conduction, ionic transport, and surface catalysis using complementary Sr‐free phases and infiltrated nanocatalysts. It delivers performance comparable to state‐of‐the‐art Sr‐containing electrodes while completely suppressing Cr‐induced ...

Quantifying fairness in Local Energy Markets

Origami has inspired numerous soft deployable mechanisms for safe human‐robot interaction, while its intrinsic kinematic instability at arbitrary configurations limited their practical robotic application. This work presents a 3D printed meter‐scale origami robotic actuator capable of load‐bearing deformation through creaseline stiffness modulation.

Inverse Design of Pre‐Strain via a Predictive Electromechanical Model for Enhanced Strain Sensing
An analytical electromechanical model rooted in microcrack evolution mechanics is globally calibrated from only eight pre‐strain datasets, enabling prediction of the complete sensing response at untested pre‐strain values within the calibrated design space (R2 > 0.99).

This review explores emerging 2D materials beyond graphene, including graphdiyne, phosphorene, borophene, siloxene, MBene, antimonene, and germanene for Li/Na–S batteries. It analyzes their roles as sulfur hosts, metallic anode protectors, separators, and electrolyte fillers, emphasizing polysulfide suppression, dendrite inhibition, and interfacial ...

Renewable Energy and the need for local energy markets
The paper argues that a new offensive green energy policy should be established in Denmark both securing public and political acceptance, and the establishment of local markets securing the technical integration of a large proportion of windpower and other fluctuating renewable energy sources into the energy system.

Comprehensive Review of Synthesis, Structure, and Electrochemical Performance of LiFePO4
Olivine‐structured LiFePO4 (LFP) nanomaterials are the most effective cathode materials for lithium‐ion battery applications. Here, we report how precursor chemistry, synthesis routes, morphology control, carbon engineering, and doping strategies govern phase formation, charge transport, and electrochemical behaviour of LFP cathodes.
