Memory and Resting‐State Connectivity in Acute Transient Global Amnesia: A Case–Control fMRI Study
ABSTRACT Background and Objectives Transient global amnesia (TGA) is a striking model of isolated amnesia. While hippocampal lesions are well described, the network‐level mechanisms and the precise neuropsychological profile remain debated. Our objective was thus to characterize functional and neuropsychological correlates of acute TGA and their ...

Safety and Tolerability of Givinostat: Evidence From Real‐World and Clinical Practice
ABSTRACT Objective The aim of our study was to establish the prevalence of adverse events in a real‐world setting in boys living with Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) treated with givinostat as part of an Expanded Access Program (EAP) in Italy. Methods The cohort included 90 ambulant boys, with age when treatment started between 6 and 23 years (mean ...

Local Orthogonal Moments for Local Features
IEEE Transactions on Image Processing, 2023By introducing parameters with local information, several types of orthogonal moments have recently been developed for the extraction of local features in an image. But with the existing orthogonal moments, local features cannot be well-controlled with these parameters.

Robust facial feature localization by coupled features
Proceedings Fourth IEEE International Conference on Automatic Face and Gesture Recognition (Cat. No. PR00580), 2002We consider the problem of robust localization of faces and some of their facial features. The task arises, e.g., in the medical field of visual analysis of facial paresis. We detect faces and facial features by means of appropriate DCT coefficients that we obtain by neatly using the coding capabilities of a JPEG hardware compressor.

An Evaluation of Local Features for Face Detection and Localization
2008 Ninth International Workshop on Image Analysis for Multimedia Interactive Services, 2008Local features have the ability to overcome the major drawback of traditional, holistic object detection approaches, because they are inherently invariant to geometric deformation and pose; in addition scale and rotation invariance can be easily achieved as well.

Localized feature selection for clustering
Pattern Recognition Letters, 2008In clustering, global feature selection algorithms attempt to select a common feature subset that is relevant to all clusters. Consequently, they are not able to identify individual clusters that exist in different feature subspaces. In this paper, we propose a localized feature selection algorithm for clustering.

Localized scleroderma: Imaging features
Pediatric Radiology, 1994Localized scleroderma is distinct from the diffuse form of scleroderma and does not show Raynaud's phenomenon and visceral involvement. The imaging features in 23 patients ranging from 2 to 17 years of age (mean 11.1 years) were reviewed. Leg length discrepancy and muscle atrophy were the most common findings (five patients), with two patients also ...

A Disaster Invariant Feature for localization
2010 IEEE/RSJ International Conference on Intelligent Robots and Systems, 2010In this paper we present a Disaster Invariant Feature (DIF), which is used for localization of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV). There exist numerous researches that address the problem of localization of UAVs using aerial images. However, after a disaster such as a tornado or an earthquake many features in aerial images like monuments and unique ...
