LOCAL APPROXIMATION TO A NON-LOCAL POTENTIAL

Nuclear Physics A, 1980
Abstract The Perey-Buck approximation is studied, and corrections to it are discussed, for the physically interesting case in which both the wavelength and the range of the non-locality are small compared to the distances over which the wavelength and the interactions change appreciably.

Analysis of local density potentials

The Journal of Chemical Physics, 2019
Low resolution coarse-grained (CG) models are widely adopted for investigating phenomena that cannot be effectively simulated with all-atom (AA) models. Since the development of the many-body dissipative particle dynamics method, CG models have increasingly supplemented conventional pair potentials with one-body potentials of the local density (LD ...

l-Dependent local potentials equivalent to a non-local potential

Nuclear Physics A, 1990
Abstract The Peierls-Vinh Mau local approximation of a non-local potential is revisited for l-waves with l ≠ 0. The approximation is tested numerically on the α-nucleon non-local potential for which the non-locality range is close to its radius.

Equivalent local Dirac potentials

Physical Review C, 1985
A transformation is used to obtain sets of equivalent Lorentz scalar, Lorentz four-vector, and tensor optical potentials. These potentials are used in the Dirac equation for describing elastic scattering observables.

THEOREMS FOR EXACT LOCAL EXCHANGE POTENTIAL

Modern Physics Letters B, 1990
Theorems for the exact local Kohn-Sham exchange potential in density-functional theory are reviewed. Trial exchange potentials based on these theorems are illustrated.

Intraspinal Localization of the Somatosensory Evoked Potential

Neurosurgery, 1981
Abstract Somatosensory evoked potentials (SEPs) are used widely for monitoring neurophysiological function in experimental spinal injury. Yet the spinal pathways for SEP conduction remain unclear. Consequently, we sought to define specific changes in the SEP after interruption of selected spinal pathways.

The Local Potential

1971
As a rule, to approach the evolution problem by attempting to solve the differential equations as they arise from the conservation and phenomenological laws, together with the constraints prescribed to the system (initial and boundary conditions) is a question attended by great difficulties.

Diffusion and localization in hierarchical potentials

Physical Review B, 1989
A simple model of classical relaxation in a one-dimensional harmonic potential with a hierarchical distribution of barriers is studied. The vanishing of an effective diffusion constant results in a transition of the low-lying eigenstates of the master equation from extended to localized.
