Dexamethasone for Chemotherapy‐Induced Nausea and Vomiting Prevention in Pediatric Patients: International Consensus

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background An international Delphi panel of experts developed consensus statements to delineate the circumstances where the risks of dexamethasone as an antiemetic do and do not outweigh its benefits. Procedure Experts in supportive care of pediatric patients were invited to participate.

Clinical Insights Into Hypercalcemia of Malignancy in Childhood

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Hypercalcemia of malignancy (HCM) is a rare but life‐threatening metabolic emergency in children that occurs in less than 1% of pediatric cancer cases, with a reported incidence ranging from 0.4% to 1.0% across different studies. While it is observed in 10%–20% of adult malignancies, pediatric HCM remains relatively uncommon.

Two Methods to Improve the Efficiency of Supersonic Flow Simulation on Unstructured Grids

open access: yesFluids, 2022
The paper presents two methods to improve the efficiency of supersonic flow simulation using arbitrarily shaped unstructured grids. The first method promotes increasing the numerical solution convergence rate and is based on the geometric multigrid ...

Evaluating the Utility of Paired Tumor and Germline Targeted DNA Sequencing for Pediatric Oncology Patients: A Single Institution Report

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To evaluate the diagnostic yield and utility of universal paired tumor–normal multigene panel sequencing in newly diagnosed pediatric solid and central nervous system (CNS) tumor patients and to compare the detection of germline pathogenic/likely pathogenic variants (PV/LPVs) against established clinical referral criteria for cancer ...

Adaptive refinement for a local error bound based on duality

open access: yesComputer Assisted Methods in Engineering and Science, 2023
This paper presents the basis of an adaptive mesh refinement technique aimed at reducing a local error, i.e. the error in a local quantity, which is defined as the integral of a stress or a displacement in a given subregion. Two pairs of dual solutions,

The Fate (Outcome) of Clinically Apparent Single Lesion and Oligofocal Nephroblastomatosis Treated According to SIOP/GPOH Protocols for Wilms Tumor

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background The management of clinically apparent single lesions or oligofocal nephroblastomatosis, a facultative precursor of nephroblastoma, remains debated. Methods We retrospectively analyzed 37 patients with clinically apparent single or oligofocal nephroblastomatosis (two to three lesions per kidney) among 2347 patients registered between

Petroleum reservoir simulation using super-element method with local detalization of the solution

open access: yesУчёные записки Казанского университета: Серия Физико-математические науки, 2017
In this paper, we propose a two-stage method for petroleum reservoir simulation. The method uses two models with different degrees of detailization to describe the hydrodynamic processes of different space-time scales.

Local mesh refinement for incompressible fluid flow with/without free surfaces

open access: yesComputer Assisted Methods in Engineering and Science, 2023
This paper presents a local mesh refinement (LMR) technique and its application to incompressible fluid flows with or without free surface boundaries. In the LMR method patches of fine grid are embedded in arbitrary regions of interest.
