LBRT: Local-Information-Refined Transformer for Image Copy–Move Forgery Detection

open access: yesSensors
The current deep learning methods for copy–move forgery detection (CMFD) are mostly based on deep convolutional neural networks, which frequently discard a large amount of detail information throughout convolutional feature extraction and have poor long ...

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Direct Numerical Simulation of Laminar-Turbulent Transition on Grids with Local Refinement

open access: yesУчёные записки Казанского университета: Серия Физико-математические науки, 2017
This paper considers a method of building composite grids with local refinement for direct numerical simulation of flows in a channel with transverse cylindrical rib at moderate Reynolds numbers.

MOLECULAR STATICS SIMULATION OF NANOINDENTATION USING ADAPTIVE QUASICONTINUUM METHOD

open access: yesActa Polytechnica CTU Proceedings, 2018
In this work, molecular statics is used to model a nanoindentation test on a two-dimensional hexagonal lattice. To this end, the QuasiContinuum (QC) method with adaptive propagation of the fully resolved domain is used to reduce the computational cost ...

Symbolic Local Refinement of Tetrahedral Grids

open access: yesJournal of Symbolic Computation, 1994
The paper shows how a usual efficient simplicial refinement method (Maubach's algorithm) can be made even more efficient replacing numerical computations by symbolic computations. A prototype written in the Mathematica programming language is used to test the algorithms.

The planar cell polarity protein Vangl2 interacts with the PDZ‐domains of Scribble but not with a unique PDZ‐like domain in Inturned

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

Local bases for refinable spaces [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the American Mathematical Society, 2005
We provide a new representation of a refinable shift invariant space with a compactly supported generator, in terms of functions with a special property of homogeneity. In particular, these functions include all the homogeneous polynomials that are reproducible by the generator, which links this representation to the accuracy of the space.

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.
