Long‐Term Follow‐Up of Chemotherapy‐Associated Biological Aging in Women With Early Breast Cancer

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
Women threated with adjuvant chemotherapy for early breast cancer have sustained long‐term increase in p16INK4a,, a robust marker of cell senescence, suggesting a chemotherapy‐associated age acceleration. p16INK4a as well as other biomarkers may identify patients at greatest risk for senescence‐related diseases of aging.

A local adaptive fuzzy spectral clustering method for robust and practical clustering

open access: yesScientific Reports
Traditional spectral clustering algorithms are sensitive to the similarity matrix, which impacts their performance. To address this, a local adaptive fuzzy spectral clustering (FSC) method is introduced, incorporating a fuzzy index to reduce this ...

Sensitivity of overall vehicle stiffness to local joint stiffness

open access: yes, 1987
How overall vehicle stiffness is affected by local joint stiffness is discussed. By using the principle of virtual work and the minimum strain energy theorem, a closed form expression for the sensitivity coefficient was derived.

Risk Prediction Models for Recurrence After Curative Treatment of Early‐Stage or Locally Advanced Lung Cancer: A Systematic Review

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
This systematic review synthesizes prognostic models for survival and recurrence in resected non‐small cell lung cancer. While many models demonstrate moderate to good discrimination, few are externally validated and reporting quality is variable, limiting clinical applicability and highlighting the need for robust, transparent model development ...

Local sensitivity in econometrics [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
The study of the effect of the violations of the model assumptions on the parameter of interest is called sensitivity analysis. Chapter 2 of this thesis defines the sensitivity statistic and confronts sensitivity analysis with diagnostic testing in a general maximum likelihood framework.

Local sensitivity of Bayesian models to the prior and likelihood

open access: yes, 2007
Full text is available to authenticated members of The University of Auckland only. The posterior in general is sensitive to the inputs of a Bayesian analysis, consequently study of posterior sensitivity to the prior and likelihood are the focus of much ...

Intelligent Tutoring Systems for Adult Learning in STEM Disciplines

open access: yesNew Directions for Adult and Continuing Education, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Intelligent tutoring systems (ITS) are reshaping adult learning in STEM by providing adaptive, data‐driven instruction across classrooms, workplaces, and informal environments. In the context of ITS, this article compares generative AI, which creates personalized explanations and practice materials, with explainable AI, which focuses on ...

Categorical Inputs, Sensitivity Analysis, Optimization and Importance Tempering with tgp Version 2, an R Package for Treed Gaussian Process Models

open access: yes
This document describes the new features in version 2.x of the tgp package for R, implementing treed Gaussian process (GP) models. The topics covered include methods for dealing with categorical inputs and excluding inputs from the tree or GP part of the

Artificial Intelligence and Mental Well‐Being in Adult Education: Implications for Practice and Professional Responsibility

open access: yesNew Directions for Adult and Continuing Education, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Mental well‐being is central to adult learner success, yet many adult education institutions lack capacity to provide timely and accessible support. This article examines how artificial intelligence (AI) can strengthen mental health–adjacent supports in adult and continuing higher education, with attention to professional practice and ...
