Abstract Purpose The total number of glomeruli is an important indicator of kidney function and susceptibility to disease. Glomeruli, however, are difficult to image using MRI without contrast enhancement. For this reason, previous studies have used cationic ferritin as a contrast agent to detect glomeruli in ex vivo and in vivo perfused kidneys.

Abstract Archaeological and anthropological evidence suggests that human ancestors' diets were rich in fiber, potassium, and complex carbohydrates, while low in sodium, refined sugars, and energy density. TOR1A is the most common inherited form of dystonia with still unclear pathophysiology and reduced penetrance of 30–40%. ∆ETorA rats mimic the TOR1A disease by expression of the human TOR1A mutation without presenting a dystonic phenotype.
