Localise It

open access: yes, 2021
<p dir="ltr">Wellington is located on a fault line which will inevitably, one day be impacted by a big earthquake. Due to where this fault line geographically sits, the central city and southern suburbs may be cut off from the rest of the region, effectively making these areas an ‘island’. This issue has absorbed a lot of attention, in particular

Supporting Survivor‐Centered Care Through Digital Health Integration

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Survivors of childhood cancer face barriers to receiving guideline‐based, long‐term follow‐up care. Two digital tools, Passport for Care (PFC) and Cancer SurvivorLink (SurvivorLink), address complementary gaps by enabling tailored survivorship care plan (SCP) generation, updating, storage, and sharing.

Merging Recent Mean Sea Surface Into a 2023 Hybrid Model (From Scripps, DTU, CLS, and CNES)

open access: yesEarth and Space Science
In this paper, we compute a new hybrid mean sea surface (MSS) model by merging three recent models, CNES_CLS22, SCRIPPS_CLS22, and DTU21, and taking advantage of their respective features.

Scene Signatures: Localised and Point-less Features for Localisation

open access: yesRobotics: Science and Systems X, 2014
This paper is about localising across extreme lighting and weather conditions. We depart from the traditional point-feature-based approach as matching under dramatic appearance changes is a brittle and hard thing. Point feature detectors are fixed and rigid procedures which pass over an image examining small, low-level structure such as corners or ...

Particle attraction localisation [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings 2003 IEEE/RSJ International Conference on Intelligent Robots and Systems (IROS 2003) (Cat. No.03CH37453), 2004
In this paper, we present an original method for Bayesian localisation based on particle approximation. Our method overcomes a majority of problems inherent in previous Kalman filter and Bayesian approaches, including the recent Monte Carlo localisation methods. The algorithm converges quickly to any desired precision.
