Mixed‐class J‐domain protein scaffolds promote expanded aggregate handling and multivalent Hsp70 engagement during functional disaggregase assembly

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Protein aggregates threaten proteostasis and cell health. In human cells, Hsp70–J‐domain protein‐based disaggregases remove aggregates, but how they assemble remains unclear. Our biochemical findings show that DNAJA2‐ and DNAJB1‐containing disaggregase scaffolds enhance luciferase aggregate targeting, and that Hsp70 recruitment by both J‐domain ...

Impact of government policies on MNEs and local organizations environmental initiatives

open access: yes, 2010
Multinational enterprises (MNEs) are often perceived as the cause of environmental degradation in developing countries. Through the lens of organisational buying behaviour theory, this manuscript examines environmental practices via landscaping ...

Breakdown of Bell Factorization from Non-Injective Effective Descriptions

open access: yesQuantum Reports
Violations of Bell inequalities are commonly interpreted as evidence for nonlocal influences or as constraints on realist descriptions. We show that the failure of Bell-type factorizability arises naturally when observable outcomes are obtained through a

The role of miR‐335‐5p in the redifferentiation of BRAF p.V600E thyroid cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The BRAF p.V600E mutation promotes thyroid cancer dedifferentiation and radioiodine resistance. Using a network approach, we identified miR‐335‐5p as a key regulator of BRAF‐mutated thyroid tumors. Restoring miR‐335‐5p increased thyroid‐specific gene expression and iodine uptake in cells and organoids.

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

ULC: A File Block Placement and Replacement Protocol to Effectively Exploit

open access: yes, 2004
In a large client/server cluster system, file blocks are cached in a multi-level storage hierarchy. Existing file block placement and replacement are either conducted on each level of the hierarchy independently, or by applying an LRU policy on more than
