A Horizontally Polarized Omnidirectional Antenna Based on Spoof Surface Plasmons
As an analog of the role of surface plasmons in optical antenna, spoof surface plasmons enable far-field radiation of antenna at microwave frequencies.

Plasmonic Marangoni forces [PDF]
Localized surface-tension-driven forces (microscale Marangoni effect) caused by a temperature inhomogeneity from the decay of optically excited surface plasmons into phonons have been engaged in the actuation of adsorbed and applied liquid on a thin ...

Trapping and guiding surface plasmons in curved graphene landscapes
We demonstrate that graphene placed on top of structured substrates offers a novel approach for trapping and guiding surface plasmons. A monolayer graphene with a spatially varying curvature exhibits an effective trapping potential for graphene plasmons ...

Large dynamic resonance transition between surface plasmon and localized surface plasmon modes
We present resonant terahertz transmission in a composite plasmonic film comprised of an array of subwavelength metallic patches and semiconductor holes. A large dynamic transition between a dipolar localized surface plasmon mode and a surface plasmon resonance near 0.8 THz is observed under near infrared optical excitation.

Selective excitation of plasmons superlocalized at sharp perturbations of metal nanoparticles
Sharp metal corners and tips support plasmons localized on the scale of the curvature radius -- superlocalized plasmons. We analyze plasmonic properties of nanoparticles with small and sharp corner- and tip-shaped surface perturbations in terms of ...

Enhancing and localizing light-matter interactions using surface plasmons
The enhancement of light-matter interactions using the strong fields associated with surface plasmons in metallic structures is a powerful concept used for example in surface enhanced Raman scattering and plasmonic sensing.

Vibrational surface EELS probes confined Fuchs-Kliewer modes
Recently, two reports have demonstrated the amazing possibility to probe vibrational excitations from nanoparticles with a spatial resolution much smaller than the corresponding free-space phonon wavelength using electron energy loss spectroscopy (EELS).

Surface enhanced resonance Raman and luminescence on plasmon active nanostructured cavities [PDF]
Presented here are studies of the impact of excitation angle on surface enhanced Raman and luminescence spectroscopy of dye immobilised on a plasmon active nanocavity array support.

Massive surface-plasmon polaritons
It is well-known that a quantum of light (photon) has a zero mass in vacuum. Entering into a medium the photon creates a quasiparticle (polariton, plasmon, surface-phonon, surface-plasmon polariton, etc.) whose rest mass is generally not zero.

Tunable hybrid surface waves supported by a graphene layer
We study surface waves localized near a surface of a semi-infinite dielectric medium covered by a layer of graphene in the presence of a strong external magnetic field.
