Unperceivable Designs of Wearable Electronics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Unperceivable wearable technologies seamlessly integrate into everyone's daily life, for healthcare and Internet‐of‐Things applications. By remaining completely unnoticed both visually and tactilely, by the user and others, they ensure medical privacy and allow natural social interactions.

On a duality for C * -crossed products by a locally compact group

open access: yes, 1978
. Let $(\mathfrak{A}, G, \alpha)$ be a $C^{*}$ -dynamical system, and $C_{r}^{*}(\mathfrak{A};\alpha)$ the reduced $C^{*}-$ crossed product of $\mathfrak{A}$ by $\alpha$ . We construct product $C_{d}^{*}(C_{r}^{*}(\mathfrak{A} ; \alpha);\beta)$ of $C_{r}^

Locally compact groups and locally minimal group topologies

open access: yesFundamenta Mathematicae, 2019
Minimal groups are Hausdorff topological groups G satisfying the open mapping theorem with respect to continuous isomorphisms, i.e., every continuous iso- morphism G → H, with H a Hausdorff topological group, is a topological isomorphism. A topological group (G,τ) is called locally minimal if there exists a neighbourhood V of the identity such that for

Dual‐Selective Terahertz‐Nanodisc Metasurfaces for Exploring Neurotransmitter Dynamics beyond Spectral Limitations

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Observation and detection of neurotransmitter dynamics in aqueous system has been hurdle for analytical fields due to its weak and reversible nature. A terahertz‐nanodisc metasurface which implements comprehensive detection over conformational change and selective sensing is introduced. Utilizing the THz regime photonics and biomimetic environment with

Natural Design of a Stabilized Cross‐β Fold: Structure of the FuA FapC from Pseudomonas Sp. UK4 Reveals a Critical Role for Stacking of Imperfect Repeats

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
We report a 3.2 Å cryoEM structure of functional amyloid protein FapC from Pseudomonas sp. UK4, an essential component of bacterial biofilm, which reveals a Greek key‐shaped protofilament, supports bioinformatically determined motifs, nuances AlphaFold predictions, emphasizes heterogeneous cross‐β stacking in amyloid cross‐seeding and shows strain ...

The exact cardinality of the set of topological left invariant means on an amenable locally compact group

open access: yes, 1986
The purpose of this note is to prove that if G is an amenable locally compact noncompact group, then the set of topological left invariant means on Lo(G) has cardinality 22, where d is the smallest cardinality of the covering of G by compact sets.

Fluoroether Design Enables High‐Voltage All‐Solid‐State Lithium Metal Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A durable high‐voltage all‐solid‐state electrolyte is developed by incorporating a novel organic/inorganic hybrid porous component with a fluoroether design. Due to the weakened Li+ coordination structure, the proposed high‐voltage SSE exhibits durable antioxidation.

The Concentration Function Problem for Locally Compact Groups Revisited: Nondissipating Space-Time Random Walks, -Decomposable Laws, and Their Continuous Time Analogues

open access: yesJournal of Mathematics, 2013
The concentration function problem for locally compact groups is concerned with the structure of groups admitting adapted nondissipating random walks.

Fibrous Pressure Sensor with Unique Resistance Increase under Partial Compression: Coaxial Wet‐Spun TiO2/Graphene/Thermoplastic Polyurethane Multi‐Wall Multifunctional Fiber

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
TGTMW fibers are designed to show a sharp resistance increase under pressure, as the multi‐wall structure in the transition region between compressed and uncompressed areas bends and forms microcracks. This design breaks the physical sensitivity limit of conventional fiber‐shaped pressure sensors, which usually show resistance reduction under pressure ...

Normal Structure and Common Fixed Point Properties for Semigroups of Nonexpansive Mappings in Banach Spaces

open access: yesFixed Point Theory and Applications, 2010
In 1965, Kirk proved that if C is a nonempty weakly compact convex subset of a Banach space with normal structure, then every nonexpansive mapping T:C→C has a fixed point. The purpose of this paper is to outline various generalizations of Kirk'
