Study on Location Accuracy of Partial Discharge Locator
2019 IEEE Electrical Insulation Conference (EIC), 2019At joint and terminal sections of the cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) cable, partial discharges (PDs) occur in defects of insulating materials. The PD generation can occur at any points in the insulation system where electric field strength exceeds a PD inception electric field and can develop until breakdown occurs.

The Accuracy of Ultrasonography on the Location of Lipomas in the Forehead
Dermatologic Surgery, 2016Preoperative recognition of tumor plane is important to avoid surgical complications in surgeries involving the scalp. Ultrasonography is a useful diagnostic tool to detect the depth of tumor noninvasively. However, some findings are not always in accordance with the actual locations of lipomas, especially in the forehead. To evaluate the accuracy of ...

Irrelevant Location Information Influences Accuracy in Bowling
Motor Control, 2015Most cognitive control effects, although numerously reported in computer task studies, have rarely been tested outside the laboratory. The purpose of this study was twofold. First, we aimed to improve the ecological validity of a well-studied congruency effect.

Location Accuracy Estimates for Signal Fingerprinting
Proceedings of the 28th International Conference on Advances in Geographic Information Systems, 2020Location fingerprinting is a technique for determining the location of a device by measuring ambient signals such as radio signal strength, temperature, or any signal that varies with location. The accuracy of the technique is compromised by signal noise, quantization, and limited calibration resources.

The Accuracy of GBM GRB Locations
AIP Conference Proceedings, 2009The Fermi Gamma‐Ray Burst Monitor (GBM) locates transient gamma‐ray sources using the relative rates in the twelve NaI detectors. The location algorithm is described. This method is subject to both statistical and systematic errors. Three types of locations are produced: automatic locations by the Flight Software onboard GBM, automatic locations by ...

An analysis is presented of noise and resolution limitations of a typical visible light imaging system in producing a digital image, and effects of the convolution of the image with the Marr-Hildreth edge operator, and the zero-crossing interpolation scheme, on the accuracy of edge location.

On the Accuracy Improvement Issues in GSM Location Fingerprinting
IEEE Vehicular Technology Conference, 2006Determining the position of mobile users in GSM networks has become more and more important. Such services as emergency calls and other location dependent services have been of great importance in the last years. A key factor for the success of any localization technology is its accuracy.

Accuracy of Track Location in Spark Chambers. I
Review of Scientific Instruments, 1961Several spark chambers with a sensitive area of about 6×6 in. have been constructed using 0.005-in. aluminum plates and 0.25-in. glass frames as spacers. These were tested with cosmic rays, using neon, argon, and neon-argon mixtures as the filling gas. A spark gap triggered by scintillation counters was used to apply a high voltage pulse to the plates.

Accuracy of electronic apex locater-controlled handpieces
Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology, Oral Radiology, and Endodontology, 2009An in vitro model was used to test a hypothesis that the manual (apex locator) and motor-driven (apex locator-controlled handpiece) operating modes of 3 newly developed apex-locator-controlled handpiece devices (Dentaport ZX, Endomaster, XSmart Dual) give the same working length.

On the Use of Cooperation to Enhance the Location Estimation Accuracy
2006 3rd International Symposium on Wireless Communication Systems, 2006In this paper, we propose an innovative solution for positioning determination in 4G wireless networks by introducing the ad-coop positioning system (ACPS). The ACPS is supported by a hybrid cellular ad-hoc architecture, where the cellular network has a centralized control over the ad-hoc connections among pairs of mobiles.
