On the accuracy of cellular mobile station location estimation

A general mathematical framework including all the multilateration techniques that process absolute and/or relative distance measurements between the mobile station and multiple base transceiver stations is introduced.

High accuracy orbital plane locator
Nuclear Instruments and Methods, 1980Abstract A device has been developed for accurately locating optical instruments relative to the orbital plane of the electrons in the storage ring. It consists of a pair of extreme ultraviolet photodiodes which are positioned above and below the electron's orbital plane. By interchanging the two diodes the system is self calibrated.

location Versus Distance in Determining Movement Accuracy
Journal of Motor Behavior, 1982In a pursuit-tracking task consisting of 100 positioning movements between targets at 5 fixed positions, target location (proximity to the boundary of the task) varied independently of movement amplitude. Eighty-seven subjects performed 12 trials of the task, with target width (at 3 levels) as a between-subject variable.

Accuracy of Bubble Location in a Bubble Chamber
Review of Scientific Instruments, 1961A measurement is reported of individual bubble locations along tracks of high-energy protons in a very small, short time scale pentane bubble chamber. Track distortions of the usual kind are greatly reduced in this system, so that one is measuring, to a precision of a few microns, the deviation of the true centers of the bubbles from the particle path.
