Socio-spatial Properties of Online Location-based Social Networks

open access: yes, 2011
The spatial structure of large-scale online social networks has been largely unaccessible due to the lack of available and accurate data about people’s location.

Circulating tumor cell viability during and after radiotherapy mirrors treatment response in cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Radiotherapy (RT) response depends on the DNA repair capacity of tumor and host cells. We show that circulating tumor cell (CTC) counts and apoptosis rates before and after RT predict treatment response and outcome, which can be accessed via easily accessible liquid biopsy approaches. User association analysis of locales on location based social networks

open access: yes, 2011
In recent years, location-based social networks (LBSNs) have received high attention. While this new breed of social networks is nascent, there is no large-scale analysis conducted to investigate the associations among users in locales of the network. In

Developmental programmes drive cellular plasticity, disease progression and therapy resistance in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that lung adenocarcinomas exploit developmental branching morphogenesis to acquire a therapy resistant basal‐like tumour cell state. This process was found to be regulated by combined TP53 loss‐of‐function and type‐I interferon signalling, identifying a novel axis for biomarker and therapeutic target discovery.

SOCIAL AND LOCATION BASED ROUTING IN DELAY TOLERANT NETWORKS [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Delay tolerant networks (DTNs) are a special type of wireless mobile networks which may lack continuous network connectivity. Routing in DTNs is very challenging as it must handle network partitions, long delays, and dynamic topology in such networks ...

Predicting visitors using location-based social networks

open access: yes, 2018
: Location-based social networks (LBSN) are social networks complemented with users' location data, such as geo-tagged activity data. Predicting such activities finds application in marketing, recommendation systems, and logistics management.

USP29‐regulated noncanonical stabilization of the hypoxia‐inducible factor‐α in aggressive prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We identify USP29 as the only DUB mirroring CA9 expression, a marker of hypoxia and HIF pathway activation associated with PCA aggressiveness. USP29 stabilizes HIF‐1α and HIF‐2α via a noncanonical mechanism that is independent of PHD/pVHL activity yet relies on proteasomal regulation, establishing USP29 as a previously unrecognized regulator of hypoxic

Towards a personalized recommendation model in location-based social networks

open access: yes, 2021
We propose a hybrid recommendation model in Location-Based Social Networks (LBSN). The model is designed to recommend a list of Points of Interest (POIs), which is a tailored list of top-k venues, that meets user’s preferences.

A novel quinazolinone insulin receptor inhibitor and its synergy with an EGFR inhibitor in glucose‐driven glioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The novel styrylquinazolinone‐based molecule W1B effectively suppresses glioblastoma by inhibiting IGF1R and EGFR. In high‐glucose microenvironments driving tumor resistance, W1B acts synergistically with the EGFR inhibitor dacomitinib. This combination safely blocks compensatory survival signaling in zebrafish xenograft models. Showcasing promising in

Locative Media and Sociability: Using Location-Based Social Networks to Coordinate Everyday Life

open access: yesArchitecture_MPS, 2018
Foursquare was a mobile social networking application that enabled people to share location with friends in the form of “check-ins.” The visualization of surrounding known social connections as well as unknown others has the potential to impact how ...
