Hamstring graft remodelling after ACL reconstruction is slower in paediatric population compared to adults

open access: yesKnee Surgery, Sports Traumatology, Arthroscopy, EarlyView.
Abstract Purpose Anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injuries are increasing in children and adolescents and reconstruction (ACLR) is now frequently performed in this population. Paediatric patients remain at higher risk of reinjury, possibly due to delayed graft remodelling.

Diffraction‐Free Natural Optical Skyrmions and Their Subwavelength Confinement Around Vortices

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Diffraction causes waves to spread out as they propagate freely. The tighter the lateral confinement, the faster the spreading. Past research on how to suppress diffraction has been based on wave engineering and has led so far to idealized waves that, in real settings, eventually diffract.

Side‐DBR Guided Exciton‐Polariton Lasing With Near‐Field Mode Imaging in an InGaN Thin‐Film Ridge Waveguide

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
Room‐temperature lower‐polariton‐like lasing is realized in an InGaN/GaN thin‐film ridge cavity with lateral distributed Bragg reflectors. Near‐field optical microscopy distinguishes the transverse side‐DBR‐confined mode from a longitudinal photon‐like mode, while simulations reproduce their spatial profiles.

How and Under What Conditions Self‐Conscious Emotions Influence Word of Mouth and Decisions to Buy

open access: yesPsychology &Marketing, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Shame and pride are two self‐conscious consumer emotions that govern social behavior and can be effective gate‐ways for managerial influence. Conditions producing shame and pride are manipulated to explain how criticisms/disapproval and compliments/praise, respectively, lead to word of mouth communications and decisions to buy.

Altered Cerebrospinal Fluid Tryptophan–Kynurenine Pathway Metabolism in Multiple System Atrophy

open access: yesMovement Disorders, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Alterations in tryptophan–kynurenine (TRP‐KYN) metabolism, which is associated with neuroinflammation, remain unclear in multiple system atrophy (MSA). Objective The aim was to investigate cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) TRP metabolites in MSA and their associations with other biomarkers.

Real‐Time Fractional Control of an Electrohydraulic System Using Low‐Cost Technology

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mechanical System Dynamics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Advances in control methods for electrohydraulic systems (EHS) improve performance by addressing nonlinearities and unknown parameters, although most studies are limited to numerical simulations. Furthermore, research with experimental validation often relies on high‐performance computing equipment, specialized data acquisition cards, and ...

Application of Non‐Isothermal Network Theory With Curved‐Channel Element Characteristics to Predict Melt Conveying in High‐Performance Single‐Screw Extruders

open access: yesJournal of Polymer Science, EarlyView.
This study presents a fast and accurate calculation tool to predict conveying of polymer melts in single‐screw extruders. Integrating generalized sub‐models into network theory allows to represent the complex screw shapes and material behavior more realistically. Tests on an industrial extruder show close agreement with experiments, outperforming older
