Regional Input–Output Tables and the FLQ Formula: A Case Study of Finland [PDF]

open access: yesRegional Studies, 2013
This paper examines the use of location quotients (LQs) in constructing regional input-output tables. Its focus is on the modified FLQ formula proposed by Flegg and Webber (1997). Using data for 20 Finnish regions of widely different size, we develop a regression model to help select an appropriate value for the unknown parameter δ in this formula.

Frequency, genetic mechanisms and factors associated with fluoroquinolone (pre-XDR) and aminoglycoside resistance among multidrug-resistant tuberculosis cases in Northwestern Nigeria [PDF]

open access: yesBMC Infectious Diseases
Background Rifampicin-resistant Mycobacterium tuberculosis (MTB), a critical priority pathogen, becomes highly complicated when it develops into pre-extensively drug-resistant (pre-XDR) and is an exceptional challenge for global TB control efforts.
