FreSh: A Lock-Free Data Series Index
Presentation slides of the paper of the same name. We present FreSh, a lock-free data series index that exhibits good performance (while being robust). FreSh is based on Refresh, which is a generic approach we have developed for supporting lock-freedom in an efficient way on top of any locality-aware data series index.

Despite frogs avoiding low temperatures, examination of four salamander species revealed that none avoided cold and all possessed cold tolerance. Functional analysis of TRPM8, a cold sensor, showed that all salamander TRPM8s had lost their cold sensitivity.

Lessons Learned From a Delayed‐Start Trial of Modafinil for Freezing of Gait in Parkinson's Disease
ABSTRACT Objective Freezing of gait (FOG) in people with Parkinson's disease (PwPD) is debilitating and has limited treatments. Modafinil modulates beta/gamma band activity in the pedunculopontine nucleus (PPN), like PPN deep brain stimulation. We therefore tested the hypothesis that Modafinil would improve FOG in PwPD.

A low-order nonconforming finite element for Reissner-Mindlin plates [PDF]
We propose a locking-free element for plate bending problems, based on the use of nonconforming piecewise linear functions for both rotations and deflections.

A new $n-$ noded polygonal plate element is proposed for the analysis of plate structures comprising of thin and thick members. The formulation is based on the discrete Kirchhoff Mindlin theory.

Locking-free discontinuous finite elements for the upper bound yield design of thick plates [PDF]
International audienceThis work investigates the formulation of finite elements dedicated to the upper bound kinematic approach of yield design or limit analysis of Reissner-Mindlin thick plates in shear-bending interaction.

Lock-Free Transactional Adjacency List [PDF]
Adjacency lists are frequently used in graphing or map based applications. Although efficient concurrent linked-list algorithms are well known, it can be difficult to adapt these approaches to build a high-performance adjacency list. Furthermore, it can often be desirable to execute operations in these data structures transactionally, or perform a ...

Neuroinflammation in GAD65 Antibody‐Associated Epilepsy Measured Using [18F]DPA‐714 PET/MRI
ABSTRACT The timing for initiating immunotherapy in patients with glutamic acid decarboxylase 65 (GAD65) antibody‐associated epilepsy is a challenge. We used the translocator protein radioligand [18F]DPA‐714 and PET to evaluate brain microglial activation.

Breaking the Rate-Loss Bound of Quantum Key Distribution with Asynchronous Two-Photon Interference
Twin-field quantum key distribution can overcome the secret key capacity of repeaterless quantum key distribution via single-photon interference. However, to compensate for the channel fluctuations and lock the laser fluctuations, the techniques of phase
