A Non-Iterative Alternative to Ordinal Log-Linear Models [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
Log-linear modeling is a popular statistical tool for analysing a contingency table. This presentation focuses on an alternative approach to modeling ordinal categorical data. The technique, based on orthogonal polynomials, provides a much simpler method

Demand Analysis of Termite Control Service in Jakarta

open access: yesJurnal Sylva Lestari, 2020
Termite is an economically important pest species in the pest control industry and considered as one of the urban pests. Although it had caused a great loss, only a few studies on termite control demand were found.

Non-linear modeling parameters for new construction RC columns

open access: yesFrontiers in Built Environment, 2023
Modeling parameters (MP) of reinforced concrete columns are a critical component of performance-based seismic assessment methodologies because in these approaches damage is estimated based on element deformations calculated using non-linear models.

Log-Linear Models for Gene Association [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the American Statistical Association, 2009
We describe a class of log-linear models for the detection of interactions in high-dimensional genomic data. This class of models leads to a Bayesian model selection algorithm that can be applied to data that have been reduced to contingency tables using ranks of observations within subjects, and discretization of these ranks within gene/network ...

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

Integrating Differential Evolution Optimization to Cognitive Diagnostic Model Estimation

open access: yesFrontiers in Psychology, 2018
A log-linear cognitive diagnostic model (LCDM) is estimated via a global optimization approach- differential evolution optimization (DEoptim), which can be used when the traditional expectation maximization (EM) fails.

KDM7A and KDM1A inhibition suppresses tumour promoting pathways in prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Treatment resistance is a major challenge for patients with advanced prostate cancer. This study examined an alternative approach to target the major prostate cancer‐promoting pathway by targeting epigenetic factors, whose levels are higher in tumours.

Log-linear modeling under generalized inverse sampling scheme

open access: yes, 2008
This article discusses the log-linear model for a multi-way contingency table, where the cell values represent the frequency counts that follow an extended negative multinomial distribution.

Multimethod Latent Class Analysis

open access: yesFrontiers in Psychology, 2015
Correct and, hence, valid classifications of individuals are of high importance in the social sciences as these classifications are the basis for diagnoses and / or the assignment to a treatment.

Heterozygous loss‐of‐function alleles associate the conserved 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease EXOSC10 with hypersensitivity to the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
EXOSC10, an essential nuclear RNA exosome‐associated 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease, is inhibited by the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil (5‐FU), and EXOSC10 depletion increases 5‐FU sensitivity. The colon‐cancer variant EXOSC10S402T, located in a proteolysis motif, is stable and nuclear but nonfunctional in vivo.
