Nephrogenic Rests/Nephroblastomatosis in Patients With Unilateral Wilms Tumor Are Not Associated With an Increased Risk of Relapse: An Analysis of Patients Treated on the SIOP‐WT‐2001 Protocol in the SIOP‐UK‐CCLG and SIOP‐GPOH Studies (2001–2022)

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Nephrogenic rests (NRs) and nephroblastomatosis (NBM) are precursor lesions for development of Wilms tumor (WT). Their association with the risk of relapse has not been properly assessed, partly due to misunderstanding of their diagnostic criteria and terminology.

An epithelial GPR35 isoform supports tumor‐associated transcriptional and metabolic phenotypes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
GPR35 generates two functionally distinct isoforms with previously unresolved roles. GPR35‐short mediates immune‐cell chemotaxis, while GPR35‐long is enriched in colorectal cancer epithelium, where it supports increased metabolism, proliferation, and tumor‐associated transcriptional programs.

The Use of a Log-Normal Prior for the Student t-Distribution

open access: yesAxioms, 2022
It is typically difficult to estimate the number of degrees of freedom due to the leptokurtic nature of the Student t-distribution. Particularly in studies with small sample sizes, special care is needed concerning prior choice in order to ensure that ...

Engineered extracellular vesicles enriched with the miR‐214/199a cluster enhance the efficacy of chemotherapy in ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...

Comparison Between Different Probability Distributions for Modeling Exchange Rate Volatility Behavior in Oil Countries for the Period 1990 – 2022

open access: yesWasit Journal for Pure Sciences
this study examines the distributional properties of exchange rate volatility for major oil-exporting developing economies from 1990-2022. Three probability distributions [ Normal, Fr'echet, and Log Normal] are compared using moment method and maximum ...

Rainfall probability modeling for Neelambur areas of Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu

open access: yesJournal of Agrometeorology, 2009
Daily rainfall data obtained from the rain gauge station, Sulur (110 N and 770 E) were analyzed for fitting one day maximum rainfall, average weekly, monthly and seasonal rainfall data, using different distributions like Normal, Log-normal, Gumbel and ...

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

Mixed Size-Biased Log-Normal Distribution with Truncated Normal Prior and Its Application in Insurance Ratemaking

open access: yesRisks
In the insurance literature, accurately predicting extreme losses has been a persistent and important problem. Recently, under the modelling framework of weighted distributions, several finite-mixture size-biased distributions, including size-biased ...

High Reproducibility of ELISPOT Counts from Nine Different Laboratories

open access: yesCells, 2015
The primary goal of immune monitoring with ELISPOT is to measure the number of T cells, specific for any antigen, accurately and reproducibly between different laboratories.
