Multimodal Haptic Perception Through Synergistic Nanocomposite Sensor Arrays

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Multi‐modal fingertip haptics are advanced through a bioinspired &vertical‐via' electronic skin architecture. A confined PDMS/MWCNT/NiNP nanocomposite, sitting at the percolation threshold, enables tactile, thermal, and magnetic sensing. A unique via‐density gradient and dedicated &Un‐Touch' reference nodes provide robust spatial resolution and signal ...

Stability estimate for an inverse boundary coefficient problem in thermal imaging

open access: yes, 2008
We establish a stability estimate for an inverse boundary coefficient problem in thermal imaging. The inverse problem under consideration consists in the determination of a boundary coefficient appearing in a boundary value problem for the heat equation ...

Bidirectional Process Prediction in the Laser‐Induced‐Graphene Production Using Blackbox Deep Learning

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
This study shows that a lightweight blackbox neural network provides a practical, cost‐effective solution for bidirectional process prediction in laser‐induced graphene (LIG) fabrication. Achieving high predictive performance with minimal overhead, the approach democratizes machine learning (ML) for resource‐limited environments.

Root‐Stimulated Movements in Mimosa Pudica for Biohybrid Robotic Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates that thermal and electrical stimulation of Mimosa pudica root induces movement of the petiole and pinnules without direct stimulation of the aerial organs, thereby enabling a plant‐based robotic gripper and providing a foundation for the development of intelligent and sustainable systems.

A Control Approach to Robust Utility Maximization with Logarithmic Utility and Time-Consistent Penalties [PDF]

open access: yes
We propose a stochastic control approach to the dynamic maximization of robust utility functionals that are defined in terms of logarithmic utility and a dynamically consistent convex risk measure.

In Vivo Microplastic Detection With Photoacoustic Imaging

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Microplastics are posing an escalating threat to both ecological systems and human health. Yet, current methods for investigating their bioaccumulation are highly invasive, requiring destructive analysis of ex vivo tissues via mass spectrometry, dye labelling, or Raman microspectroscopy.
