Do logarithmic proximity measures outperform plain ones in graph clustering?

open access: yes, 2017
We consider a number of graph kernels and proximity measures including commute time kernel, regularized Laplacian kernel, heat kernel, exponential diffusion kernel (also called "communicability"), etc., and the corresponding distances as applied to ...

Vacuum energy in the presence of a magnetic string with delta function profile [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
We present a calculation of the ground state energy of massive spinor fields and massive scalar fields in the background of an inhomogeneous magnetic string with potential given by a delta function.

Flexible Chemiresistive Chitosan‐Glycerol Sensors on Laser‐Induced Graphene Electrodes for Room‐Temperature Ammonia Detection

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Flexible Chitosan‐glycerol sensor integrated with porous laser‐induced graphene (LIG) electrodes enable room‐temperature chemiresistive detection of ammonia (NH3) and proof‐of‐concept detection of fish spoilage. ABSTRACT We report a metal‐free sensor platform combining laser induced graphene (LIG) electrodes with drop‐deposited, glycerol‐plasticized ...

The central emission vertex of two gravitons

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
It has recently been shown that there exists an s-channel sequence of classical corrections [1] to the H diagram computed long ago by Amati, Ciafaloni and Veneziano [2].

The very unusual properties of the resolvent, heat kernel, and zeta function for the operator $-d^2/dr^2 - 1/(4r^2)$

open access: yes, 2006
In this article we analyze the resolvent, the heat kernel and the spectral zeta function of the operator $-d^2/dr^2 - 1/(4r^2)$ over the finite interval.

AutomataGPT: Transformer‐Based Forecasting and Ruleset Inference for Two‐Dimensional Cellular Automata

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We introduce AutomataGPT, a generative pretrained transformer (GPT) trained on synthetic spatiotemporal data from 2D cellular automata to learn symbolic rules. Demonstrating strong performance on both forward and inverse tasks, AutomataGPT establishes a scalable, domain‐agnostic framework for interpretable modeling, paving the way for future ...

A central part interpolation scheme for log-singular integral equations

open access: yesMathematical Modelling and Analysis, 2013
A fully discrete high order method is constructed and justified for a class of Fredholm integral equations of the second kind with kernels that may have boundary and logarithmic diagonal singularities.

Null octagon from Deift-Zhou steepest descent

open access: yesNuclear Physics B, 2022
A special class of four-point correlation functions in the maximally supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory is given by the square of the Fredholm determinant of a generalized Bessel kernel. In this note, we re-express its logarithmic derivatives in terms of a

A Law of the Logarithm for Kernel Density Estimators

open access: yesThe Annals of Probability, 1982
In this paper we derive a law of the logarithm for the maximal deviation between a kernel density estimator and the true underlying density function. Extensions to higher derivatives are included. The results are applied to get optimal window-widths with respect to almost sure uniform convergence.

SKOOTS: Skeleton‐Oriented Object Segmentation for Mitochondria in High‐Resolution Cochlear EM Datasets

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Skeleton‐oriented object segmentation (SKOOTS) introduces a new strategy for 3D mitochondrial instance segmentation by predicting explicit skeletons rather than relying on boundary cues. This approach enables robust analysis of densely packed organelles in large FIB‐SEM datasets.
