Elliptic curves and logarithmic derivatives [PDF]
Let C be a curve with Jacobian variety J defined over an arbitrary field k. In this paper, we show that the logarithmic derivative induces a natural homomorphism from the group J(k) of k-rational points on J into the group (H1(C,Oc) ⊗k ΩkZ1)δ(Γ(C, ΩCk 1))

In this work, we investigate the computation of the counterterms necessary for the renormalization of the one-loop effective action of quantum gravity using both the worldline formalism and the heat kernel method.

Rational engineering of terminal substituents in symmetric azobenzene‐based molecules enables precise control over conformationally coupled charge‐transfer processes. This design yields tunable nonvolatile resistive memory behaviors, ranging from write‐once‐read‐many‐times (WORM) to rewritable switching.

Multivariate Jacobi and Laguerre polynomials, infinite-dimensional extensions, and their probabilistic connections with multivariate Hahn and Meixner polynomials [PDF]
Multivariate versions of classical orthogonal polynomials such as Jacobi, Hahn, Laguerre, Meixner are reviewed and their connection explored by adopting a probabilistic approach.

As a pilot phase of the Central Asian Genomic Diversity Project, whole‐genome sequencing of 166 individuals from 20 Central Asian and Afghan Hazara populations reveals fine‐scale substructure shaped by repeated trans‐Eurasian migration and admixture. Integrated analyses uncover post‐admixture adaptation, archaic introgression, and medically relevant ...

Scale-invariant Mexican Hat wavelet descriptor for non-rigid shape similarity measurement
The Mexican Hat wavelet (MHW) is strictly derived from the heat kernel by taking its negative first-order derivative with respect to time t. As a solution to the heat equation that the heat kernel has a clear initial condition, the Laplace–Beltrami ...

Using grilled lamb skewers as a model system, this work builds a multiscale coupling framework from oral processing to retronasal aroma perception, reveals dual‐kinetic release patterns and Electroencephalogram‐characterized central encoding features, and proposes an interpretable physics‐guided deep learning model validated by multiphysics simulation,

String kernels, Fisher kernels and finite state automata [PDF]
In this paper we show how the generation of documents can be thought of as a k-stage Markov process, which leads to a Fisher kernel from which the n-gram and string kernels can be re-constructed.

On gelation for the Smoluchowski coagulation equation
Motivated by the recent results of Andreis–Iyer–Magnanini [2], we provide a short proof, revisiting the one of Escobedo–Mischler–Perthame [7], that for a large class of coagulation kernels, any weak solution to the Smoluchowski equation loses mass in ...
