A Numerical–Experimental Approach for Multi‐Matrix Fiber‐Reinforced Plastics Characterization Using Finite Element Model Updating

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A numerical–experimental framework is developed for characterizing multi‐matrix fiber‐reinforced polymers (MM‐FRPs) combining epoxy and polyurethane matrices. Harmonic bending tests are integrated with finite element model updating (FEMU) to simultaneously identify elastic and viscoelastic material parameters.

Logarithmic mean and weighted sum of geometric and anti-harmonic means

open access: yesJournal of Numerical Analysis and Approximation Theory, 2012
We consider the problem of finding the optimal values \(\alpha,\ \beta\in\mathbb{R}\) for which the inequality\[\alpha G(a,b)+(1-\alpha)C(a,b)

How to average logarithmic retrievals? [PDF]

open access: yesAtmospheric Measurement Techniques, 2012
Calculation of mean trace gas contributions from profiles obtained by retrievals of the logarithm of the abundance rather than retrievals of the abundance itself are prone to biases.

Nearly-logarithmic decay in the colloidal hard-sphere system

open access: yes, 2005
Nearly-logarithmic decay is identified in the data for the mean-squared displacement of the colloidal hard-sphere system at the liquid-glass transition [v. Megen et. al, Phys. Rev. E 58, 6073(1998)].

Near‐Field Electrospinning Micro‐Printhead Achieves Precise Control of Nanofiber Deposition

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A micro‐printhead for near‐field electrospinning enables reproducible deposition of polymer nanofibers with diameters below 50 nm. Systematic parameter studies uncover the mechanisms linking operating conditions to fiber morphology, paving the way for precise and low‐cost nanoscale 3D manufacturing. As a high‐resolution, cost‐effective, and rapid ...

Logarithmic means and summability by the circle methods [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the American Mathematical Society, 1975
It is proved that if the logarithmic means of a sequence { s n } \{ {s_n}\} satisfy a certain order condition then the sequence { s n } \{ {s_n}\} will be summable by every ...

Successive iterations and logarithmic means [PDF]

open access: yesOperators and Matrices, 2013
The successive iteration (started by Lagrange and Gauss) produces a new mean from two given ones. Several examples of matrix means are given that require the proof of the matrix monotonicity of the corresponding representing function. The paper contains extensions of the logarithmic mean and it is obtained that the Stolarsky mean can be used also for ...

Al–Cu Composite Casting of Laser‐Deoxidized Copper: Bonding, Interfacial Chemistry, and Thermal Conductivity

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study investigates laser‐based oxide removal of Cu inserts in oxygen‐free conditions and examines long‐term oxidation kinetics and surface chemistry under different atmospheres via X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy. Al–Cu compound casting with differently oxidized surfaces is performed, and intermetallic phase formation, morphology, and thermal ...

Dielectric Barrier Discharge Plasma Deoxidation of Natively Oxide Layer of Copper Powders in a Fluidized Bed

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This paper presents a novel approach to reducing oxide layers on metal powders using low‐temperature hydrogen dielectric barrier discharge plasmas at atmospheric pressure. Unlike conventional hydrogen‐plasma reductions, the powders do not contact the plasma directly.

Decomposition analysis of CO₂ emissions in India: Logarithmic mean divisia index

open access: yesEnvironment Conservation Journal
The study is conducted to quantify driving forces of carbon dioxide (CO₂) emissions using decomposition analysis. The paper investigates the determinants of CO₂ emissions using the Logarithmic Mean Divisia Index (LMDI) for the period 2011-2021.
