KDM7A and KDM1A inhibition suppresses tumour promoting pathways in prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Treatment resistance is a major challenge for patients with advanced prostate cancer. This study examined an alternative approach to target the major prostate cancer‐promoting pathway by targeting epigenetic factors, whose levels are higher in tumours.

Forestowners attitudes regarding logging residues in southern Sweden

open access: yes, 2016
Skogen har under lång tid använts som värmekälla. Genom att ta tillvara på grot (GRenar Och Toppar) vid slutavverkningar bidrar skogsägaren med förnybar energi som minskar beroendet av fossila bränslen.

Bark beetles on logging residues of European larch: Effects of shading and diameter of logging residues on infestation density

open access: yesAgricultural and Forest Entomology
Abstract Ips cembrae , an important pest of European larch ( Larix decidua ), has caused local outbreaks in the last two decades and is becoming increasingly ...

Transcriptional profiling of circulating extracellular vesicles from prebiopsy prostate cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
RNA profiling of circulating extracellular vesicles (EVs) from blood samples of men undergoing prostate biopsy identifies transcripts associated with clinically significant prostate cancer. Integrative analysis with public tumor datasets links EV‐derived gene signatures to tumor stage and progression‐free survival, highlighting CASP3, XRCC2, and RIT1 ...

Using Timber as a Renewable Resource for Energy Production in Sustainable Forest Management

open access: yesEnergies, 2022
Using timber from multifunctional forests for energy production can be economically viable and environmentally friendly when it is consistent with the principles of sustainable management; otherwise, it could be harmful from both an ecological and ...

Log Calabi–Yau surfaces and Jeffrey–Kirwan residues

open access: yesMathematical Proceedings of the Cambridge Philosophical Society
AbstractWe prove an equality, predicted in the physical literature, between the Jeffrey–Kirwan residues of certain explicit meromorphic forms attached to a quiver without loops or oriented cycles and its Donaldson–Thomas type invariants. In the special case of complete bipartite quivers we also show independently, using scattering diagrams and theta ...

Predicting Logging Residue Volumes in the Pacific Northwest [PDF]

open access: yesForest Science, 2016
Pacific Northwest forest managers seek estimates of post-timber-harvest woody residue volumes and biomass that can be related to readily available siteand tree-level attributes. To better predict residue production, researchers investigated variability in residue ratios, growing-stock residue volume per mill-delivered volume, across Idaho, Montana ...

Developmental programmes drive cellular plasticity, disease progression and therapy resistance in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that lung adenocarcinomas exploit developmental branching morphogenesis to acquire a therapy resistant basal‐like tumour cell state. This process was found to be regulated by combined TP53 loss‐of‐function and type‐I interferon signalling, identifying a novel axis for biomarker and therapeutic target discovery.

Logging Residues of Low Harvest Intensity in Indonesian Forest Concession

open access: yesJurnal Ilmu Pertanian Indonesia, 2020
Forest harvesting of natural-forest production in Indonesia is carried out with a high felling intensity, thus has changed the forest biomass. Several studies have shown a strong correlation between harvesting intensity and the reduction of wood volume ...
