Pair‐wise comparison of the CellSearch and FETCH enrichment technologies for circulating tumor cells (CTCs) from metastatic breast, prostate, and small cell lung cancer patients shows an increased capture of CTCs using FETCH enrichment. The clinical implementation of circulating tumor cells (CTCs) as a predictive tool for therapy efficacy in the ...

A Simplified Method of Sampling Logging Residue
The line intersect technique for estimating the volume of logging residue was field tested in British Columbia from 1965 to 1967. Residual volumes could be satisfactorily estimated from two sets of sampling lines oriented at right angles. Angular orientation of the residue to the sampling lines could be represented by a constant factor on both tractor-

Transpirational Drying of Stacked Logging Residue Logs for Wood Fuel Chips.

The novel styrylquinazolinone‐based molecule W1B effectively suppresses glioblastoma by inhibiting IGF1R and EGFR. In high‐glucose microenvironments driving tumor resistance, W1B acts synergistically with the EGFR inhibitor dacomitinib. This combination safely blocks compensatory survival signaling in zebrafish xenograft models. Showcasing promising in

Eucalyptus plantations have replaced other (agro)ecosystems over 5.6 Mha in Brazil. While these plantations rapidly accumulate carbon (C) in their biomass, the C storage in living forest biomass is transient, and thus, longer‐term sustainability relies ...

The proposed mechanism of action for the CDK12/13 inhibitor and cyclin K degrader, CT7439. CDK12/13 inhibition interrupts transcription elongation, leading to increased DNA damage that results in cell death. This agent is a potentially novel treatment option for patients with colorectal cancer. Created in BioRender. Cyclin‐dependent kinase (CDK) 12 and

Detecting circulating tumor cells (CTCs) in blood before surgery may help predict outcomes in patients with head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC). Here, we show when combined with tumor size and lymph node involvement from routine imaging, CTC status identifies high‐risk patients with poorer survival—offering a simple, minimally invasive tool ...

LUNAR is a liver‐specific long noncoding RNA (lncRNA) that is highly expressed in normal liver but becomes epigenetically silenced in hepatocellular carcinoma through promoter hypermethylation. Loss of LUNAR is associated with NOTCH activation, epithelial–mesenchymal transition, and metastasis, whereas restoring LUNAR restrains metastatic progression ...

Pharmacological chromatin remodeling enhances response to estrogen therapy in ER+ breast cancer
Estrogen therapy elicits clinical benefit in ~ 30% of patients with endocrine‐resistant estrogen receptor (ER)‐positive breast cancer. Based on findings that ER transcriptional activation underlies response to estrogen therapy, we tested the effects of epigenetic dysregulation via pharmacological inhibition of histone deacetylases (HDACi).
