Feasibility study of logging-while-drilling boundary detection using electric dipole antenna

open access: yesFrontiers in Earth Science
The critical need for deep boundary detection in complex hydrocarbon reservoirs drives the advancement of Logging-while-drilling (LWD) azimuthal electromagnetic measurement (AEM). New deep detection tools employ open-loop half-circle electric dipole (ED)

Pre‐Curved Everting Robots With Embedded Steering Intelligence Fabricated by CO2 Laser Welding

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
Design and experimental demonstration of a laser welded growing robot for anatomically guided navigation. The robot follows an aortic arch phantom entering the branchiocephalic branch through steering by design. The figure shows the physical phantom setup, CAD defined weld geometry and full robot eversion.

Multi-scale intelligent fusion and dynamic validation for high-resolution seismic data processing in drilling

open access: yesPetroleum Exploration and Development
During drilling operations, the low resolution of seismic data often limit the accurate characterization of small-scale geological bodies near the borehole and ahead of the drill bit.

Hematoma Interleukin‐1 Receptor Antagonist Concentrations Predict Long‐Term Outcome in Acute Human Intracerebral Hemorrhage

open access: yesAnnals of Neurology, EarlyView.
Objectives The interleukin (IL)‐1, IL‐6, and C‐reactive protein (CRP) pathway is central to the immune response after intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH). We tested for associations between hematoma and plasma cytokine concentrations and patient outcomes in Minimally Invasive Surgery Plus Rt‐PA for ICH Evacuation Phase III (MISTIE III) participants ...

Monopole Acoustic Logging While Drilling Acoustic Insulator Based on Labyrinthine Grooved Structure

open access: yesCejing jishu
In acoustic logging while drilling (ALWD), the presence of a thick-walled drill collar inspires significant amplitude drill collar waves, which will interfere with the measurement and acquisition of formation information.

Key surface logging technologies in horizontal well geosteering

open access: yesPetroleum Exploration and Development, 2012
In the drilling of horizontal wells, the core task of surface logging is to guide geosteering while drilling by using collected data including electrical property, lithology, petrophysics, and oil/gas-bearing properties. Surface logging in the horizontal

Green Fuel Combustion Synthesis of CeO2 and Ag/CeO2 Nanoparticles for Photocatalytic and Antibacterial Applications

open access: yesAsia-Pacific Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Silver‐doped cerium oxide nanoparticles (Ag/CeO2 NPs) were synthesized using Ricinus communis seed extract as a bio‐derived fuel in a solution combustion method. The combustion reaction, carried out at 450°C with AgNO3 and (NH4)2[Ce (NO3)6] as metal precursors, produced CeO2 and Ag/CeO2 NPs.

Origin, evolution and biogeographic dynamics of the European rabbit (Oryctolagus cuniculus) in Southwestern Europe

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView.
Abstract The Pleistocene is a key period for understanding the evolutionary history and palaeobiogeography of the European rabbit (Oryctolagus cuniculus). The species was first documented in southeastern Iberia at the beginning of the Middle Pleistocene and appears to have rapidly spread throughout Southwestern Europe, where it was found in numerous ...

Poseidon's Sanctuary at Samikon—The Discovery of an Ancient Temple Through an Integrated Geophysical and Geoarchaeological Survey Approach for Lagoonal and Swampy Environments

open access: yesArchaeological Prospection, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Below the classical fortress of Samikon at the coast of the western Peloponnese, ancient writer Strabo mentioned a sanctuary of Poseidon which served as the centre of the religious association of the Triphylian cities. In this paper, we describe the discovery and investigation of a building structure by means of geophysical and ...
