A magnetoelectric logic gate

physica status solidi (RRL) – Rapid Research Letters, 2010
AbstractWe present a strain‐mediated magnetoelectric logic (ME‐logic) gate, with electric field directly used as the logical input/output. The basic building block of the ME‐logic device is a magnetic tunnel junction (MTJ) attached to a ferroelectric layer, in which the resistance of the MTJ unit can be modulated by an electric field applied to the ...

Multi-Logics Gates

2019 International Seminar on Electron Devices Design and Production (SED), 2019
In this conference paper, a set of multi-logics gates is proposed, designed, and verified. They are applicable for a novel type of application-specific processors based on predicate logic. These gates produce results equal to eight different types of logic operations which are suitable for artificial intelligence applications.

Soliton-repulsion logic gate

Optics Letters, 1996
We present numerical simulations of a logic gate based on repulsive interaction in a dual-core fiber and call it a soliton-repulsion logic gate (SRLG). The operation of the SRLG is compared with that of the conventional soliton-dragging logic gate based on cross-phase modulation.

Fluorescence for biological logic gates

Journal of Biophotonics, 2020
AbstractBiological logic gates are smart probes able to respond to biological conditions in behaviors similar to computer logic gates, and they pose a promising challenge for modern medicine. Researchers are creating many kinds of smart nanostructures that can respond to various biological parameters such as pH, ion presence, and enzyme activity.

Graphene Logic Gates

IEEE Transactions on Nanotechnology, 2018
Graphene is a biocompatible material that can be incorporated safely into living tissue. This property makes graphene an ideal material for bioelectronics applications. The main obstacle for using graphene as a material for bioelectronic circuits is the lack of a bandgap, which results in noneffective current switching.

Logic gates for entropic transport

Physical Review E, 2012
We consider a Brownian particle that is confined in a two-dimensional enclosure and driven by a combination of input signals. It has been shown that the logic gates can be formed by considering the state of the particle experiencing an entropic barrier as the output signal.

Microfluidic logic gates and timers

Lab on a Chip, 2007
We use surface tension-based passive pumping and fluidic resistance to create a number of microfluidic analogs to electronic circuit components. Three classes of components are demonstrated: (1) OR/AND, NOR/NAND, and XNOR digital microfluidic logic gates; (2) programmable, autonomous timers; and (3) slow, perfusive flow rheostats. The components can be
