Language and Logic in Wittgenstein's Tractatus

open access: yesNordic Wittgenstein Review, 2013
This paper investigates Wittgenstein’s account of the relation between elementary and molecular propositions (and thus, also, the propositions of logic) in the Tractatus Logico-Philosophicus.

On epistemic conceptions of meaning: use, meaning and normativity [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Many philosophers hold that for an expression to possess meaning is for there to norms governing its use. By combining this with a further idea, namely that the relevant norms are epistemic, one arrives at an epistemic conception of meaning (EM). In this

Integrated Optoelectronic Model to Predict the External Quantum Efficiency of Single‐Layer TADF Organic Light‐Emitting Diodes

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
An experimentally validated optoelectronic device model is presented to describe the efficiency and roll‐off behavior of single‐layer TADF OLEDs. By coupling charge transport, exciton dynamics, and optical outcoupling, the model reproduces the External Quantum Efficiency (EQE) across different emission layer thicknesses and temperatures, offering ...

SPICE‐Compatible Compact Modeling of Cuprate‐Based Memristors Across a Wide Temperature Range

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
A physics‐guided compact model for YBCO memristors is introduced, incorporating carrier trapping, field‐induced detrapping, and a differential balance equation to describe their switching dynamics. The model is compared with experiments and implemented in LTspice, allowing realistic circuit‐level simulations.

On the Interpretation of Denotational Semantics

open access: yesPhilosophies
The denotational approach to the semantics of programming languages views program meanings as elements of domains, abstract partially ordered structures that form the basis of a mathematical theory of computation.

In‐Sensor Computing by Soft Threshold Logic Gates Under Different Humidity Conditions

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
Soft nanocomposite materials, based on gold cluster‐assembled thin films implanted in polydimethylsiloxane substrate, can perform reliable processing in ambient environmental conditions. Humidity influences the resistive switching and computational capabilities of the nanocomposites, that can be used as multifunctional material combining sensing ...

Experimental Demonstration of Temporally Aware Fault‐Tolerant Sensor Fusion Using Memristive Associative Learning

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
In dynamic driving scenarios, the proposed approach ensures only temporally aligned sensor inputs to make driving decisions, preventing false activations. By enabling selective hardware‐level learning, it achieves fast, reliable responses under noisy conditions.

Sequent Systems for Consequence Relations of Cyclic Linear Logics

open access: yesBulletin of the Section of Logic
Linear Logic is a versatile framework with diverse applications in computer science and mathematics. One intriguing fragment of Linear Logic is Multiplicative-Additive Linear Logic (MALL), which forms the exponential-free component of the larger ...

Nonmonotonic Enhancement of Electro‐Optic Properties of Wurtzite AlN Thin Films by Sc Doping

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
EO coefficient, rc, for Sc‐AlN thin films in comparison with that for Mg ZnO thin films (left). Calculated electric field intensity of the fundamental mode supported by the active area that includes Sc‐AlN (right). ABSTRACT Wurtzite ferroelectrics, such as Sc‐doped AlN, have recently attracted considerable attention for their potential in realizing ...

Understanding the logical constants and dispositions to infer

open access: yes, 2010
Many philosophers claim that understanding a logical constant (e.g. ‘if, then’) fundamentally consists in having dispositions to infer according to the logical rules (e.g. Modus Ponens) that fix its meaning.
