Modelling defence logistics networks

International Journal on Software Tools for Technology Transfer, 2007
Military logistics concerns the activities required to support operational forces. It encompasses the storage and distribution of materiel, management of personnel and the provision of facilities and services. A desire to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the Australian Defence Force logistics process has led to the investigation of rigorous ...

Logistics models in flexible manufacturing

Computers in Industry, 1998
Abstract An integrated modeling approach that considers the overall production schedule is needed in order to effectively manage different material flows in a flexible manufacturing system (FMS), where large amounts of data intervene in the dynamic control and decision making process. This study focuses on the development of an integrated FMS control

PREDICTIVE DIAGNOSTICS FOR LOGISTIC MODELS

Statistics in Medicine, 1996
Novel methodology is implemented to assess the predictive power of covariate information associated with sequential binary events. Logistic models are first fitted on the basis of a subset of the observations and then evaluated sequentially on the rest.

Logistic Randomized Response Model

2009
Sensitive topics or highly personal questions are often faced in medical psychological and socio-economic survey. Warner’s pioneering randomized response (RR) device, as a method for reducing evasive answer bias while estimating the proportion of people in a community bearing a sensitive attribute, has been studied extensively over the last four ...

A logistic model for thyroid lesions

Diagnostic Cytopathology, 1992
AbstractA stepwise logistic regression analysis was performed in 27 cases of papillary carcinoma thyroid (PC), 20 follicular neoplasms (FN), 30 cases of Grave's disease (GD), and 40 cases of colloid adenomatous goitre (CAG). The three most important variables in predicting PC were papillary clusters, dense cytoplasm, and intranuclear cytoplasmic ...

Logistic Modeling of Note Transitions

2015
Note transitions form an essential part of expressive performances on continuous-pitch instruments. Their existence and precise characteristics are not captured in conventional music notation. This paper focuses on the modeling and representation of note transitions.

Fitness and survival in logistic models

Journal of Theoretical Biology, 1978
Abstract The concepts of fitness and survival in logistic models are shown to be independent if we follow certain intuitive definitions for these concepts. This conclusion follows from a simple topological analysis of the function f b ( x ) = bx (1− x ), which is just the standard form of the logistic growth equations.
