Urban Noise Analysis Using Multinomial Logistic Regression [PDF]
AbstractThe research uses a database of urban noise data collected continually from April 2013 to March 2014 at 10 sites in Dublin, Ireland. The first objective of the paper is to investigate if the morning daily noise level peak is related to transport characteristics of households, such as car ownership levels, the mode by which people travel to work,

Next‐generation proteomics improves lung cancer risk prediction
This is one of very few studies that used prediagnostic blood samples from participants of two large population‐based cohorts. We identified, evaluated, and validated an innovative protein marker model that outperformed an established risk prediction model and criteria employed by low‐dose computed tomography in lung cancer screening trials.

A logistic regression analysis of risk factors in ME/CFS pathogenesis
Background Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS) is a complex disease, whose exact cause remains unclear. A wide range of risk factors has been proposed that helps understanding potential disease pathogenesis.

A Study of Panel Logit Model and Adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy Inference System in the Prediction of Financial Distress Periods [PDF]
The purpose of this paper is to present two different approaches of financial distress pre-warning models appropriate for risk supervisors, investors and policy makers. We examine a sample of the financial institutions and electronic companies of Taiwan

LDAcoop: Integrating non‐linear population dynamics into the analysis of clonogenic growth in vitro
Limiting dilution assays (LDAs) quantify clonogenic growth by seeding serial dilutions of cells and scoring wells for colony formation. The fraction of negative wells is plotted against cells seeded and analyzed using the non‐linear modeling of LDAcoop.

Analysis of Young Drivers’ Confidence and Behaviour: Binary Logistic Regression Approach [PDF]
Road crashes are a global concern, and they disproportionately affect younger drivers due to their inexperience and risk-taking behaviour. In Sri Lanka, the higher risk of traffic crashes among younger drivers underscores the need for researchers to ...

Logistic regression analysis of employment behavior data using randomized response technique [PDF]
Direct survey techniques deal with collecting information on sensitive issues data, such as induced abortion, drug addiction, and so on. RR (randomized response) techniques are available for many interviewees, who do not feel comfortable to disclose ...

To integrate multiple transcriptomics data with severe batch effects for identifying MB subtypes, we developed a novel and accurate computational method named RaMBat, which leveraged subtype‐specific gene expression ranking information instead of absolute gene expression levels to address batch effects of diverse data sources.
