A Sensitivity Analysis Workflow for Power Series Compounded Lifetime Models: Evidence From Weibull Power Series Fits

open access: yesQuality and Reliability Engineering International, Volume 42, Issue 6, Page 3606-3619, October 2026.
ABSTRACT We propose a practical procedure to quantify the time varying influence of parameters on hazard functions for power series compounded lifetime models. The procedure combines likelihood based fitting with a two stage sensitivity analysis and applies to a range of baselines and compounding laws.

Wind‐Driven Circulation Feedbacks Offset Tropical Geoengineered Sea Salt Emissions

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Atmospheres, Volume 131, Issue 17, 16 September 2026.
Abstract Using a NOAA Geophysical Fluid Dynamics Laboratory coupled atmosphere–ocean (CM4) comprehensive model, we employ simulations of enhanced, geoengineered sea salt aerosol (SSA) emissions in the tropics to examine the circulation response to idealized marine cloud brightening. Increased tropical SSA emissions cool the deployment region and weaken

Corn tolerance and weed control with amicarbazone and metribuzin applied preemergence

open access: yesAgrosystems, Geosciences &Environment, Volume 9, Issue 3, September 2026.
Abstract Since the late 1950s, atrazine has been a cornerstone of corn (Zea mays L.) weed control, but decades of use have raised concerns about groundwater contamination and enhanced biodegradation. Therefore, amicarbazone and metribuzin were evaluated as alternatives to preemergence use of atrazine in corn.

Sensitivity of 3D Base‐Isolated Buildings to Individual Isolator Variability

open access: yesEarthquake Engineering &Structural Dynamics, Volume 55, Issue 11, Page 2653-2668, September 2026.
ABSTRACT Variability in elastomeric isolators arises from differences in rubber formulation and curing, leading to noticeable changes in stiffness and damping among nominally identical bearings. While most previous studies have examined global isolator variability associated with environmental or aging effects, individual isolator variability has ...
