Polynomialit{é} d'anneaux de repr{é}sentations modulaires projectives [PDF]
Consider the Grothendieck group of finite type projective modular representations of the symmetric groups on n letters, or more generally, of its wreath product with a finite group. They form a graded group, with a product defined using induction. We show that the resulting graded ring is a polynomial ring.

Initial soil structural development under different types of vegetation [PDF]
In September 2007, undisturbed soil cores were taken from experimental fields in The Netherlands and in Northern Sweden that had been under different types of vegetation during four years.

Mixed Outcomes in Recombination Rates After Domestication: Revisiting Theory and Data
ABSTRACT The process of domestication has altered many phenotypes. Selection on these phenotypes has long been hypothesised to indirectly select for increases in the genome‐wide recombination rate. This hypothesis is potentially consistent with theory on the evolution of the recombination rate, but empirical support has been unclear. We review relevant

Polynomiality of Grothendieck groups for finite general linear groups, Deligne-Lusztig characters, and injective unstable modules [PDF]
Let K 0 (Fp GLn(Fp)-proj) denote the Grothendieck group of finitely generated pro-jective Fp GLn(Fp)-modules. We show that the algebra C $\otimes$ n$\ge$0 K 0 (Fp GLn(Fp)-proj) with multiplication given by induction functors, is a polynomial algebra. We explicit generators and their relation with Deligne-Lusztig characters.

Evaluation of Lolium perenne L. cv. AberDart and AberDove for silage production [PDF]
peer-reviewedThe objective of this study was to assess the value, for silage production, of intermediateheading Lolium perenne L. cultivars, AberDart and AberDove (diploid), bred for increased water-soluble carbohydrate (WSC) concentrations, relative to

Comparison of planted soil infiltration systems for treatment of log yard runoff [PDF]
Treatment of log yard runoff is required to avoid contamination of receiving watercourses. The research aim was to assess if infiltration of log yard runoff through planted soil systems is successful and if different plant species affect the treatment

Concurrent anthropogenic stressors affect plant–soil systems with different plant diversity levels
Summary Plant diversity strongly influences ecosystem functioning. Due to human activities, ecosystems are increasingly threatened by the co‐occurrence of numerous anthropogenic pressures, but how they respond to this multifaceted phenomenon is poorly documented, and what role plant diversity plays in this process has not been investigated so far. Here,

Intrinsic time lags in blazar flares and the search of Lorentz Invariance Violation signatures [PDF]
Some Quantum Gravity models predict a violation of Lorentz invariance. Namely, the velocity of photons in vacuum could depend on their energies. One possibility for Lorentz Invariance Violation (LIV) searches is to look for energy-dependent delays in the arrival time of very high energy (VHE) photons coming from distant sources such as TeV emitting ...

Vegetation change of mountainous hay meadows to intensified management regime in organic farming [PDF]
The whole vegetation assemblage of 60 relevés (4 m²) in a block design was examined at two mountainous hay meadow stands over a two-year period. All sites were situated at a certified organic farm, managed according to the guidelines of organic farming ...
