Curvularia Blight on Lolium perenne on Turfgrasses in Argentina

open access: yesPlant Disease, 2007
Lolium perenne L. is commonly used alone or in association with blue-grass and fescues in sport fields, parks, and gardens. During 2003, symptoms of an unknown disease were observed on L. perenne turfgrass in western Buenos Aires. Initial symptoms were indefinite yellow and green dappled spots that extended downward from the leaf tip, turned brown and

Proportion of parental genomes in hybrids Allium cepa × A. roylei determines which one becomes dominant

open access: yesThe Plant Genome, Volume 18, Issue 2, June 2025.
Abstract Interspecific hybridization leads to complex interactions between the parental genomes, often in the form of genome dominance, where one genome prevails over the other. This phenomenon has been attributed to differential chromosome behavior during meiotic division and may involve either female or male meiosis, or both.

Feasibility study on distributed simulations of BGP [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2013
The Autonomous System (AS)-level topology of the Internet that currently comprises 40k ASs, is growing at a rate of about 10% per year. In these conditions, Border Gateway Protocol (BGP), the inter-domain routing protocol of the Internet starts to show its limits, among others in terms of the number of routing table entries it can dynamically process ...

Potential food production from forage legume-based-systems in Europe: an overview [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
peer-reviewedIntensification of EU livestock farming systems has been accompanied by the development of maize silage and intensively fertilised grasses at the expense of forage legume crops.

Genetic Characterisation of the Bacterial Microbiota Associating With a Strain of Epichloë Fungal Endophyte of Perennial Ryegrass and the Interaction With Its Paenibacillus Members

open access: yesEnvironmental Microbiology Reports, Volume 17, Issue 3, June 2025.
The bacterial microbiota of Epichloë fungal endophyte AR135 was dominated by members within the genus Paenibacillus. Cells of Paenibacillus were located on the surface of AR135 fungal hyphae. E100 and E300 strains, identified as Paenibacillus, were isolated from the AR135 mycelium and showed a negative correlation when associated with AR135.

The sub-TeV transient Gamma-Ray sky: challenges and opportunities [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2019
The detection of gravitational waves and neutrinos from astrophysical sources with gamma-ray counterparts officially started the era of Multi-Messenger Astronomy. Their transient and extreme nature implies that monitoring the VHE sky is fundamental to investigate the non-electromagnetic signals.

Species Composition Influences Zinc and Selenium Uptake in Multispecies Grasslands

open access: yesGrass and Forage Science, Volume 80, Issue 2, April-June 2025.
ABSTRACT The aim of this study was to assess and analyse the effect of species richness on zinc (Zn) and selenium (Se) uptake and concentrations in grasslands while investigating the potential role of grass species in facilitating their uptake in mixtures. We conducted a grassland experiment at both pot and field scales.
