Long period fiber grating in two-core hollow eccentric fiber

Long period fiber gratings (LPGs) in a two-core hollow eccentric fiber (TCHF) have been demonstrated experimentally. Two LPGs have been fabricated into the respective core of the TCHF by a high frequency CO2 laser. The coupling characteristics in the TCHF-LPG have been studied using the coupling mode theory (CMT).

The Plant‐to‐Plant Circular Strategy: Coupling Photodegradation and Phytoremediation With Plant‐Based Nanomaterials for Plastic Degradation

Plant‐based nanomaterials derived from alfalfa serve as dual‐function catalysts, coupling photodegradation and phytoremediation to degrade polyethylene under UV‐A light and in soil. The nanomaterials work synergistically with alfalfa and soil microbes, achieving efficient plastic breakdown without trophic transfer.

Ag Nanowire‐Integrated MoS2/ZnO Heterojunctions for Highly Efficient Photogenerated Charge Transfer

A versatile strategy is reported for fabricating multi‐dimensional heterojunctions with significantly improved charge transfer capability. By integrating Ag nanowires with a MoS2/ZnO heterojunction, a fourfold increase in surface photovoltage is achieved, reaching 200 mV under visible light illumination.

Optimization of sensitivity in Long Period Fiber Gratings with overlay deposition

The deposition of an overlay of higher refractive index than the cladding in a Long Period Fiber Grating (LPFG) permits to improve the sensitivity to ambient refractive index changes in a great manner. When the overlay is thick enough, one of the cladding modes is guided by the overlay.
