Simultaneous Measurement for Strain and Temperature Using Fiber Bragg Gratings and Multimode Fibers [PDF]
An all-fiber sensor capable of simultaneous measurement of temperature and strain is newly presented. The sensing head is formed by a fiber Bragg grating combined with a section of multimode fiber that acts as a Mach-Zehnder interferometer for ...

Strong long-period fiber gratings recorded at 352?nm [PDF]
We describe long-period grating inscription in hydrogenated telecom fibers by use of high-intensity femtosecond 352 nm laser pulses. We show that this technique allows us to fabricate high-quality 30 dB gratings of 300 microm period and 2 cm length by use of a three-photon absorption mechanism.

Plasmonic Optical Fiber-Grating Immunosensing: A Review
Plasmonic immunosensors are usually made of a noble metal (in the form of a film or nanoparticles) on which bioreceptors are grafted to sense analytes based on the antibody/antigen or other affinity mechanism.
