Fibre optic long period grating-based humidity sensor probe using a Michelson interferometric arrangement.

open access: yes, 2013
Long period gratings (LPG)-based sensors are widely used due to their high sensitivity to a range of suitable measurands. However, a typical configuration involving a single grating-based LPG sensor system frequently has the disadvantage of the probe ...

Respiratory monitoring using fibre long period grating sensors [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
We demonstrate the use of a series of in-line fibre long period grating curvature sensors on a garment, used to monitor the thoracic and abdominal volumetric tidal movements of a human subject. These results are used to obtain volumetric tidal changes of

Laser‐Induced Periodic Phase‐Transition of 2D‐MoTe2 Nanograting Template for Frequency‐Shift Digital‐SERS Immunoassay of Autoimmune Disease

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A protocol of fs‐laser‐induced periodic phase‐transition of 2D‐MoTe2 template, inducing AuNPs@1T’‐MoTe2 nanograting, is developed. The labeled AuNPs@1T’‐MoTe2 substrate conjugated with specialized immunoglobulin G demonstrates an unexpectedly high discrimination accuracy close to unity for serological diagnosis of rheumatoid arthritis by frequency ...

Differential phase tracking applied to Bragg gratings in multi-core fibre for high accuracy curvature measurement [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
High resolution quasi-static and dynamic curvature measurements are made by differential interferometric phase measurement of fibre Bragg gratings in separate cores of a multi-core fibre.

Organoid Brain‐Machine‐Interface Devices for Central Nervous System Repair

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We envision organoid brain‐machine‐interface (Organoid‐BMI) devices as new biohybrid bidirectional communication pathways to connect the human CNS and the external world for personalized CNS repair and regeneration. ABSTRACT Central nervous system (CNS) repair and regeneration suffer from tremendous clinical challenges due to current limitations in ...

The Sensitivity of Grating-Based SPR Sensors with Wavelength Interrogation

open access: yesSensors, 2019
In this paper, we derive the analytical expression for the sensitivity of grating-based surface plasmon resonance (SPR) sensors working in wavelength interrogation.

Microblasting Wound Dressings Mechanically Disrupt Polymicrobial Biofilms to Enhance Healing in Treatment‐Resistant Wounds

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Treatment‐resistant wounds caused by polymicrobial biofilms are refractory to conventional therapies due to the dense extracellular matrices. We developed μBLAST, a microblasting wound dressing that combines MnO2‐doped biosilica and a H2O2‐releasing mesh to generate localized oxygen microbubbles that mechanically disrupt biofilms.
