A Thermodynamic 3D Model for the Simulation of Diffusion‐Controlled Alloying Processes in Heterogeneous Material Structures

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A numerical model resulting from irreversible thermodynamics for describing transport processes is introduced, focusing on thermodynamic activity gradients as the actual driving force for diffusion. Implemented in CUDA C++ and using CalPhaD methods for determining the necessary activity data, the model accurately simulates interdiffusion in aluminum ...

HALOGrid—HyperAdaptive long short term memory model with intelligent grid optimization

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electrical Power & Energy Systems
HALOGrid is an adaptive edge–cloud malware detection framework for IoT traffic. The approach couples a lightweight LSTM (residual paths, attention, drift-penalty regularization) for low-latency edge inference with a telemetry-driven tuner that performs ...

The long memory of newspapers' subscriptions: between the short-run and persistence response [PDF]

open access: yes
The mainstream of marketing time series analysis has shifted from classical short-range dependence (ARMA, transfer functions and VAR models). However, in cases where purchase decisions entail some commitment (e.g., a subscription selling periodic use of ...

Memory limits : give us an answer! [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
Cowan has written a meticulous and thought-provoking review of the literature on short-term memory. However, reflections on one area of evidence, that of working memory span, shows the extent to which the research debate can be circumscribed by choice of

Detecting Spamming Reviews Using Long Short-term Memory Recurrent Neural Network Framework

open access: yes, 2018
Some unethical companies may hire workers (fake review spammers) to write reviews to influence consumers' purchasing decisions. However, it is not easy for consumers to distinguish real reviews posted by ordinary users or fake reviews post by fake review

Performance Analysis of Abradable Coating Systems for Aircraft Gas Turbines

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Three CoNiCrAlY/YSZ/MgAl2O4 abradable liner configurations on a nickel‐superalloy are evaluated by thermal‐gradient cycling and incursion tests. Laser ablation of the bondcoat and/or Y2O3‐stabilized ZrO2 (YSZ) intermediate layer increases mechanical interlocking and bonding for thick topcoats.

Memory – what is it and how it works?

open access: yesZdravniški Vestnik, 2006
: Memory system presents a basis for many cognitive functions and at the same time it itself depends on their normal function. The purpose of the article is to show how it works as an array of interacting systems, each capable of registring information ...

Fostering Innovation: Streamlining Magnetocaloric Materials Research by Digitalization

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Magnetocaloric cooling (MCE) is an environmentally friendly refrigeration method with great potential. Optimizing MCE materials involves the preparation and screening of large quantities of samples, which in turn generates a large amount of data. A digitalization approach is presented that uses ontologies, knowledge graphs, and digital workflows to ...

RETRIEVAL PROCESS IN FREE RECALL CREATES ERRORS IN SHORT TERM MEMORY BUT NOT IN LONG TERM MEMORY

open access: yesRUDN Journal of Psychology and Pedagogics, 2015
An analysis of free recall errors shows that the free recall retrieval process in short term memory is accompanied by a linear rise in errors, without discontinuities, invalidating short term memory models in which stores or states are sequentially ...
