Ultra-Short-Term Prediction of Wind Power Based on Error Following Forget Gate-Based Long Short-Term Memory

open access: yesEnergies, 2020
To improve the accuracy of ultra-short-term wind power prediction, this paper proposed a model using modified long short-term memory (LSTM) to predict ultra-short-term wind power.

Linking working memory and long-term memory: A computational model of the learning of new words

open access: yes, 2007
The nonword repetition (NWR) test has been shown to be a good predictor of children’s vocabulary size. NWR performance has been explained using phonological working memory, which is seen as a critical component in the learning of new words.

Working memory in children with developmental disorders [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
The aim of the present study was to directly compare working memory skills across students with different developmental disorders to investigate whether the uniqueness of their diagnosis would impact memory skills.

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

A common short-term memory retrieval rate may describe many cognitive procedures [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
We examine the relationship between response speed and the number of items in short-term memory in four different paradigms and find evidence for a similar high-speed processing rate of about 25 to 30 items per second (~35 to 40 ms/item). We propose that

Stimulator of interferon genes agonist augmented antitumor immunity of osimertinib in Egfr‐mutated lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining osimertinib with the STING agonist ADU‐S100 activates innate and adaptive immunity to overcome the non‐inflamed microenvironment of Egfr‐mutant lung cancer. This combination increases NK and CD8+ T‐cell infiltration, associated with activation of the STING‐IRF3 pathway and local immunogenic cell death.

Categorisation of power quality problems using long short‐term memory networks

open access: yesIET Generation, Transmission & Distribution, 2021
Recognition of power quality (PQ) troubles is a critical task in the electrical power system. All previous works solve this problem using two‐step methodology: Feature extraction and classification steps with each step using its own techniques, and this ...

Machine Learning Models for Classification of Human Emotions Using Multivariate Brain Signals

open access: yesComputers, 2022
Humans can portray different expressions contrary to their emotional state of mind. Therefore, it is difficult to judge humans’ real emotional state simply by judging their physical appearance.

Computer simulations of developmental change: The contributions of working memory capacity and long-term knowledge

open access: yes, 2008
Increasing working memory (WM) capacity is often cited as a major influence on children’s development and yet WM capacity is difficult to examine independently of long-term knowledge.
