Structural Characterization and Antioxidant Activity of Polysaccharides From Indigo Naturalis Ophiopogon japonicus: Effects of Processing and Extraction Methods

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 14, Issue 2, February 2026.
Indigo naturalis processing significantly increased polysaccharide and uronic acid content, altered monosaccharide composition, and introduced high‐molecular‐weight fractions. Structural changes enhanced DPPH and superoxide anion scavenging activities, especially in reflux‐extracted processed samples (W‐IP, IC50 = 3.19 mg/mL).

Rheumatoid Arthritis Preceded by Interstitial Lung Disease Controlled by Long‐Term Treatment With the Janus Kinase 1‐Selective Inhibitor, Filgotinib: A Case Report

open access: yesRespirology Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 2, February 2026.
We present a case of ILD preceding RA onset. The disease activity of arthritis and ILD was controlled, and ILD was stabilised for 4 years with the JAK1 selective inhibitor, filgotinib. ABSTRACT We present a case of active interstitial lung disease (ILD) preceding the onset of rheumatoid arthritis (RA).

Fruiting pattern in longan, Dimocarpus longan: from pollination to aril development

open access: yesAnnals of Applied Biology, 2016
AbstractIn most fleshy fruits, the edible part of the fruit is formed either by the pericarp derived from the ovary wall or by an engrossed receptacle. However, in a number of fruit tree species the edible part is the aril, an outgrowth of the ovule that envelops the seed, and there is a paucity of information on fruit development and fruiting pattern ...

Amiodarone‐Induced Pneumonia Without Foamy Macrophages in the BALF: A Diagnostic Challenge Unveiled by Cryobiopsy

open access: yesRespirology Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 2, February 2026.
Amiodarone‐induced pneumonia can occur even in the absence of foamy macrophages in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid, potentially leading to diagnostic uncertainty. In this case, transbronchial lung cryobiopsy revealed characteristic histopathological features, including vacuolization of type II alveolar epithelial cells and lymphoid hyperplasia, enabling a

Analysis of the Dynamics of Clinical Parameters and Serum Angiogenic Factors in Systemic Sclerosis Patients Undergoing Tocilizumab Treatment

open access: yesExperimental Dermatology, Volume 35, Issue 2, February 2026.
This study demonstrates that tocilizumab (TCZ) treatment promotes microvascular recovery in systemic sclerosis (SSc), as evidenced by increased capillary density and that this improvement in vasculopathy is closely associated with enhanced pulmonary function.

Functional Trait Space Reveals Resource Use Strategies of Woody Plants in the Lijiang River Basin

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 1, January 2026.
We found that both trees and shrubs in Lijiang exhibited conservative strategies; shrubs showed greater dispersion in trait space. Lijiang species were more acquisitive, while Yangtze species emphasized stress tolerance and resource conservation. ABSTRACT Understanding how plants allocate resources under environmental constraint is central to trait ...
