Dorsal longitudinal myelotomy [PDF]

open access: yesSpinal Cord, 1976
An evaluation of dorsal longitudinal myelotomy in the management of spasticity of the lower limbs has been done in 17 patients. The follow-up has varied from 1 month to over 2 years. Most patients achieved satisfactory relief from spasticity. Eight patients have died after the operation in chronic care hospitals.

ALS longitudinal kickers [PDF]

open access: yesAIP Conference Proceedings, 1992
This paper discusses the coupled‐bunch instability and how it applies to the ALS accelerator. The longitudinal ALS kicker is part of the bunch‐to‐bunch feedback system planned to control coupled‐bunch instabilities in the ALS. The mechanical features of the kicker are described, and the analytic tools developed to aid in the design are discussed.

Associations between Neurocardiovascular Signal Entropy and Physical Frailty

open access: yesEntropy, 2020
In this cross-sectional study, the relationship between noninvasively measured neurocardiovascular signal entropy and physical frailty was explored in a sample of community-dwelling older adults from The Irish Longitudinal Study on Ageing (TILDA).

Inequalities in body mass index, diet and physical activity in the UK: Longitudinal evidence across childhood and adolescence

open access: yesSSM: Population Health, 2021
We use longitudinal data across a key developmental period, spanning much of childhood and adolescence (age 5 to 17, years 2006–2018) from the UK Millennium Cohort Study, a nationally representative study with an initial sample of just over 19,000.

Metabolites Associated with Memory and Gait: A Systematic Review

open access: yesMetabolites, 2022
We recently found that dual decline in memory and gait speed was consistently associated with an increased risk of dementia compared to decline in memory or gait only or no decline across six aging cohorts. The mechanisms underlying this relationship are

Patient Activation in Childhood, Adolescent, and Young Adult Cancer Survivors: Current Insights and Implications for Survivorship Care—A Systematic Review From the e‐QuoL Project

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Purpose Patient activation—encompassing knowledge, confidence, and skills in managing individual's health—is a cornerstone of person‐centered care. However, its significance among childhood, adolescent, and young adult cancer survivors (CAYACS) remains unexplored. This article examines the application of the 13‐item Patient Activation Measure (
