Associations between Cardiovascular Signal Entropy and Cognitive Performance over Eight Years

open access: yesEntropy, 2021
In this study, the relationship between non-invasively measured cardiovascular signal entropy and global cognitive performance was explored in a sample of community-dwelling older adults from The Irish Longitudinal Study on Ageing (TILDA), both cross ...

Longitudinal Aspects of VITT

open access: yesSeminars in Hematology, 2022
In hundreds of patients worldwide, vaccination against COVID-19 with adenovirus vector vaccines (ChAdOx1 nCoV-19; Ad26.COV2.S) triggered platelet-activating anti-platelet factor 4 (PF4) antibodies inducing vaccine-induced immune thrombotic thrombocytopenia (VITT).

Verbal intelligence is a more robust cross-sectional measure of cognitive reserve than level of education in healthy older adults

open access: yesAlzheimer’s Research & Therapy, 2021
Background Cognitive reserve is most commonly measured using socio-behavioural proxy variables. These variables are easy to collect, have a straightforward interpretation, and are widely associated with reduced risk of dementia and cognitive decline in ...

Longitudinal validity of spirometers - a challenge in longitudinal studies

open access: yesSwiss Medical Weekly, 2005
Pulmonary function testing (PFT) in longitudinal studies involves the repeated use of spirometers over long time periods. We assess the comparability of PFT results taken under biologic field conditions using thirteen certified devices of various technology and age. Comparability of measurements across devices and over time is relevant both in clinical

ALS longitudinal kickers [PDF]

open access: yesAIP Conference Proceedings, 1992
This paper discusses the coupled‐bunch instability and how it applies to the ALS accelerator. The longitudinal ALS kicker is part of the bunch‐to‐bunch feedback system planned to control coupled‐bunch instabilities in the ALS. The mechanical features of the kicker are described, and the analytic tools developed to aid in the design are discussed.

Developmental dynamics between young adults’ life satisfaction and engagement with studies and work [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
The present five-wave longitudinal study investigated the cross-lagged associations between young adults’ life satisfaction and study/work engagement over the transition from post-comprehensive studies to higher education or work during the second and ...

Handling attrition and non-response in longitudinal data

open access: yes, 2009
oai:edrev.asu.edu:article/21Procedures for handling attrition and missing data in longitudinal studies are discussed. A multiple imputation (MI) strategy is developed that can be applied to complex multilevel data.
