Co‐activation of Selective Nicotinic Acetylcholine Receptor Subtypes Is Required for Neuroprotection against Alzheimer's Disease

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Beta‐amyloid peptide (Aβ)‐induced suppression of hippocampal GABAergic interneuron activity drives hyperexcitability, amyloid pathology, and cognitive impairment in Alzheimer's disease (AD), suggesting that enhancing hippocampal inhibition may be protective.

Enhancing Quasi‐Two‐Dimensional Electronic Structure in Bi2O2Se via Chlorine Substitution

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We demonstrate chlorine substitution as an effective strategy to transform Bi2O2Se into an exfoliatable van der Waals superlattice. Key electronic band feature, including indirect bandgap, effective mass is well preserved, while the 2D character of the system is sufficiently enhanced.

Amyloid fibrils of the myelin basic protein are an integral component of myelin in the vertebrate brain

open access: yesScientific Reports
The myelin basic protein (MBP) is the most abundant intracellular protein of the myelin, which forms the electrically insulating sheath of axons of many actively functioning neurons. This protein binds the opposite membranes of the flattened processes of

Experimental Study on the Influence of High-Pressure Water Mist on the Ceiling Temperature of a Longitudinally Ventilated Tunnel

open access: yesFire
In this study, a tunnel model with a length of 20 m, a width of 5 m, and a height of 5 m was used, and an experimental investigation was conducted to examine the impact of high-pressure water mist on the temperature distribution along the tunnel ceiling.

Early‐Life Manganese Overexposure Activates Microglial Phagocytosis through the YY1/TREM2 Axis Leading to Hippocampal Synaptic Remodeling in Mice

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Early‐life manganese exposure induces behavioral deficits and aberrant hippocampal synaptic remodeling by enhancing microglial phagocytosis in young adult male mice. Mechanistically, manganese promotes Yin Yang 1 (YY1)/triggering receptor expressed on myeloid cells 2 (TREM2) signaling through enhanced HIF1α‐mediated transcription and suppressed SMURF2 ...

Interfacial Asymmetry and Surface Roughness Enhanced Topological‐Hall‐Like Transport in SRO/BTO/SRO Trilayers

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Trilayer oxide architecture introduces interfacial asymmetry and surface roughness in SRO/BTO/SRO heterostructures, creating a locally modulated polar and magnetic landscape. This design enhances the topological‐Hall‐like response, achieving a broad 5–90 K stability window and a maximum ρTHE of 0.8 µΩ cm, demonstrating an effective route to amplify ...
