Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Parallel Algorithms for Look-Up Table (LUT) Inverse Haldtoning
The Look-Up Table (LUT) method for inverse halftoning is fast and computation-free technique employed to obtain good quality images. In this work we propose six algorithms to parallelize the LUT method so that more pixels can be concurrently inverse ...

Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

A Jointly Optimized Variable M-QAM and Power Allocation Scheme for Image Transmission
We introduce an improved image transmission scheme over wireless channels with flat Rayleigh fading. The proposed scheme jointly optimizes bit power and modulation level to maximize the peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR) of the reconstructed image and ...

An Improved BAQ Encoding and Decoding Method for Improving the Quantized SNR of SAR Raw Data
When the original echo data of SAR are saturated for quantization, the performance of the commonly used block adaptive quantization (BAQ) algorithm will be degraded, which will degrade the imaging quality.

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Burst-Mode Asynchronous Controllers on FPGA
FPGAs have been mainly used to design synchronous circuits. Asynchronous design on FPGAs is difficult because the resulting circuit may suffer from hazard problems.

Embryo‐like structures (stembryos) are an innovative tool, but they are hindered by experimental variability and limited developmental potential. DNA methylation is crucial for mammalian development, but its status in stembryo models is poorly characterized.
